NOC, Fun job and nice but very bad communication and management

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Coworkers are nice and look out for each other. Supervisor does not put high pressure on the employees.

Kommunikation

The NOC works in shifts, early, late and night. They would regularly be changed less than a week in advance without anyone being informed about it. Night shift is expected to join meetings at 12 (5 hours after the night shift ends). Supervisor sometimes calls early morning, best to leave phone silent when you sleep.
Changes are made without being communicated. Instructions (from other teams or within the teams) are given but not posted in central communication channels, which is very bad when working weekends or during night shifts. Complaints are pushed aside.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Everyone looks out for one another. However, there was an incident between two team members and it did not appear like the offending party saw any punishment, so bad eggs do exist in the company and are protected because they are with the company for many years.

Work-Life-Balance

Very little flexibility from the employer, but a lot of flexibility is expected of the employee. Vacations have to be asked for months in advance. Home office is not a possibility and was only temporarily done during the height of the pandemic.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

The supervisor is a nice person but he is not good at his job. He is not technical enough to handle a lot of the things required and he does not have strong management skills. Almost everything is being handled by the team members themselves.

Interessante Aufgaben

A few team members handle the vast majority of the work. Trainings are not being given to the other members to help them reach the same level of skill.

Gleichberechtigung

Men are all considered "more technical". Women are not being given a real and fair chance.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Old employees are valued to the point where they almost have immunity.

Good equipment, spacious office, central location.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

None except split garbage bins.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Without the night shift bonus, this job pays very poor for IT.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

The team asked for trainings for over a year but never received them internally or externally. Trainings are only being held by other NOC agents.
