The lack of structure, roles, and responsibilities has left a working environment where knowledge and experience don't mean anything. This has compounded into a working culture where you must constantly align by actively asking to be included or people coming to you randomly to ensure that even the basic fundamental things are covered before starting a project. Speaking of the working culture. In this company, everything must be celebrated in company-wide meetings regardless of quality or company value. This has put the company's products on a path to pure mediocracy with no real benefits or value to the customers, whom it claims are its focus. The people you work with are very inexperienced; however, they have been put into decision-making positions with no one checking the quality of their work, leaving a lot of design and tech debt to be constantly rectified with inferior results. The company operates with no clear core values other than the constant short-term goals that it can make up out of nothing in an attempt to move in a direction. Over time, you start feeling that your work and time spent on the different projects doesn't matter as the core values shift to accommodate whatever new short-term goal is presented. If the VW Group hadn't financially backed the company, this company wouldn't be able to exist in the free market.

Understand the ability, in terms of skills and experience, of the people you have working in the company to ensure that people who can't fill the accountability of their role aren't put into a decision-making process. After all, if the same people haven't been able to improve the company's problems after years of being there, maybe don't keep putting them into roles of decision-making power.

The company is being reorganized for a third time in its short lifespan, so there is tension about the new roles and responsibilities, and people are trying to cling to their existing power.

None. You get further with rumors than the official communication channels from the company. Nobody seems to know who is doing what or why, and you have to find out if you are still working on the right thing during the company all hands.

The company is divided into cliques based on the place you work in, as the company is spread out over different cities. As there is a lot of internal politics (depending on which department you work in), people stick together and cling to their perceived power.

As there rarely are any long-term plans or strategic goals, work comes in sporadic packages that leave much free time.

Depending on the department that you are working in, the supervisors who are supposed to lead the departments are doing everything else but that. People are left to their own devices with no guidance or understanding of the product's direction or the department's goal.

Interessante Aufgaben

While there are areas of interest to be worked on, the problem is that, due to unsupervised negligence, the products you work on are in such a bad state that any improvement requires a look into the entirety of the system. So you end up fixing broken products rather than actually making new things.

Due to the company's misguided understanding that a flat hierarchy also means that seniority doesn't matter, the older colleagues' advice and knowledge are neglected, and the younger workers feel empowered by it and keep making decisions that result in poor outcomes and quality.

The office, in both location and size, is good. However, the occasional issues with air con during the summer can leave you sweating.

This aspect is driven by individuals of the company rather than the company itself, which can result in various unnecessary discussions on the internal communication channels.

The company wants to be the hip, sustainable daughter of the VW group, but ultimately, its purpose is to make money so it abandons its perceived principles whenever it suits it.

After 5-6 years of existence, the company has just discovered that it should probably grade its employees to figure out a strategy for career improvements.

We are in the middle of a restructuring and there are still a few adjustments to be made. This can mean that not everything runs smoothly.
