It is like a communist country. There is no open communication, constantly people just suddenly disappear (fired) for no apparent reason, so that an atmosphere of fear is maintained. In this milieu a few ruthless people can thrive through intrigues and denunciation.
Also very open and unashamed illegal substance abuse is going on.
