Wonderful team, great networking opportunities, limited room for growth, and terrible pay
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The team at Salzburg Global Seminar is wonderful and very supportive.
Work-Life-Balance
Work-life-balance is often poor especially for those on All-In contracts as working hours tend to often go beyond 40h per week and there isn't any time nor financial compensation.
Gleichberechtigung
Salzburg Global Seminar has a DEI Task Force and works steadily to be more inclusive. However, many aspects such as diversity of staff, accessibility of facilities, and salary transparency to name a few leave room for improvement.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Pay for anyone below senior management is not competitive. The gap between salaries for senior management on one hand and middle to junior management on the other hand is immense and rarely addressed. While salaries for more junior roles are included in job advertisements, this isn't the case for more senior roles. Salary bands range widely and often overlap significantly. A sense of purpose is very often used to justify low salaries.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Limited budget for professional development and trainings exists but seems difficult to access. An exception to this are German language courses which are partly subsidized.
Career development and professional growth are a challenge at Salzburg Global Seminar. Many leave the organization at a more junior level and return after some years for a more senior role with more responsibility and better pay.
