when I started they promised me the technical heaven... in reality it is adding stuff to opensource software (which is not bad at all, but not what was promised by HR and management)

projectmanagers are more valued than a lot of devs (depending on the project). but not all... you have to use your ellbows... which is a shame
projects are not valued the same (obvious, but you shouldn't be laughed at, when working on tiny projects)
