If you can work here...you can work anywhere...
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
flexible work hours...as long as you maintain the core hours, you can arrive later or leave earlier for appointments. Some good people to learn from and work with.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Poor communication, shouting at each other, inexperienced managers, people who are interested in building their empires and stepping on other people to reach climb the corporate ladder.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Train your managers. Improve the atmosphere. Respect your employees and value what they bring to the company. Stopping paying peanuts otherwise you only get monkeys. Invest in your employees via training, conferences, seminars etc
Arbeitsatmosphäre
When stress levels are high, shouting becomes the order of the day. I think in eastern Europe that this is the normal way of doing business. It seems that the louder you speak, the more weight your words carry.
Kommunikation
Sure there are regular meetings but not everything is communicated openly.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Good team work in some teams. If you can "handle" (accept) the cultural differences, then you will be ok. Shouting at each other also happens though from eastern European colleagues.
Work-Life-Balance
Core hours are 10 until 14:30. You can work later if you need to leave during the day. Very flexible in this regard.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Some managers are inexperienced and do not have sufficient people skills and do not know Austria labour laws.
Interessante Aufgaben
Some teams are assigned interesting projects while other teams have to maintain the current systems. Depends where you end up.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
IT team age is around 30's. Other teams have "older" members but everyone is treated equally, but some are treated more equaller.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
I receive fair pay but others on the team are not so lucky. They earn less than average but it depends on your negotiation skills and where you come from.

Name has been changed to kalixa (www.kalixa.com) and has bought out a UK company PXP (or is it the other way round)
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Learn by doing, learn on your own. Learn by failure... No courses, no seminars, no conferences. And NO German course.
