Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

We are very pleased to hear that you rate a number of aspects such as team cohesion, frequency of communication, sustainability and equality very positively; but we're of course sad to hear that there were some areas you were unhappy about.

This comes as a bit of a surprise to us as you didn't raise any of the mentioned concerns during the 1:1 meetings that your team lead held with you on at least a monthly basis - we actively encourage all employees to discuss their concerns with us directly and give us a chance to address them.

Regarding our office space, following our recent move into a new office we have received the feedback from a number of team members in our regular 1:1s that the acoustics of the new office could be better. We take this feedback seriously, so as a result, we are already investing significantly in a number of areas to improve this, such as sound-proofing the main area and meeting rooms and the creation of (more) quiet rooms.

Regarding career development opportunities, we very much appreciate and want to encourage team members who want to expand their responsibilities and / or develop further in their career at HYDROGRID, and we believe that the high number of internal promotions which have taken place over the last 18 months show this commitment clearly.

This is also why you receive clear feedback at least twice a year from your team lead on exactly which skills & capabilities you need to develop in order to progress to the next level at HYDROGRID. In your particular case – as was clearly communicated to you - your level of results and proactive motivation did not match our expectations for the level of your role, which is why we unfortunately could not consider you for a promotion.

We are a bit surprised that you perceived there were not enough interesting tasks for you to work on, given that we are a fast growing company working on a wide variety of projects relating to everything from cutting-edge machine learning to expanding into the Americas and that we have a number of open roles at all levels of the organisation. If you felt you could have contributed to the company better by taking on new or different tasks we would have been very open to widening your area of responsibility accordingly.

In any case, we appreciate your open feedback as it helps us identify areas for improvement. If you would be open to discussing your concerns further or providing more specific insights, we would be grateful if you would reach out to us directly.

We are of course sad that things did not work out as planned, but we want to thank you once again for your time with us and wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavours!
