Much ado about nothing
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
AKQA is a good stepping stone. It's best for people who have aquired some work experience before and want to take the next step. The working environment is very diverse and it is fun to have all kinds of different nationalities working together.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The main focus for projects is short-term success, quality is mainly what you see from the outside. Look one step deeper and you'll find defects everywhere.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
It's a friendly environment where everybody tries to be nice to each other
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Mostly the teams are a good mix of people that fit together. I actually think that my colleagues were the best part of AKQA. Might depend a bit on the department, though.
Most people are competent, though you won't find a lot of rock-star expertise here.
There's a lot of fluctuation, most people will probably not stay longer than 2-3 years
Work-Life-Balance
It's an agency, so expect to work long hours if a project runs tight. It's not too common though.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Managers a generally fair and supportive, though in terms of career development it can depend your manager if she/he is actually helpful
Interessante Aufgaben
If you're lucky then you could be working on some interesting projects. There's also a lot of mediocre stuff that is being made sound more exciting than it actually is. This can be annoying.
Gleichberechtigung
The team is quite diverse, but I don't feel that the company activly tries to push this (for example hiring women into tech jobs)
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Most of the team are
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Sometimes there's events and talk about such things, but it feels like it done for PR reasons.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Very intransparent. I know there are jobs out there that pay better and have more benefits. You'll start with only 25 days of holiday for example.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There's a number of training opportunities, but they mostly not interesting. It's hard to get budget for external training. Be prepared for your training to be canceled on a short notice if your project needs you
