- top-down decisions that sometimes cannot even be justified
- Japanese management changing every few years, with which the mood and development in the company stands or falls
- only 25 vacation days!

Verbesserungsvorschläge

- Communicate the company's vision more clearly
- finally replace the Japanese management with local employees, that gives long-term stability
- more transparent communication of all important decisions from the HQ
- Take employees seriously and show appreciation not only in monetary terms
- Adapt working conditions to European standards
- Establish a feedback culture

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Little to no appreciation from superiors, nice colleagues compensate for that.

Kommunikation

Information is passed on late or not at all, little internal communication or hardly any exchange with non-Japanese colleagues.
The lack of knowledge of English and international experience among the Japanese makes working together quite difficult sometimes.

Work-Life-Balance

Overtime can be compensated with time off. But the colleagues in sales are often totally overworked and hardly can reduce overtime.

Home office was introduced during Covid and quickly abolished afterwards. Very sad.
Part-time working models are still unknown to the company and are rather the exception.

You sometimes feel like a stupid petitioner, when some things have long been taken for granted in other companies.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Entire management are male Japanese expats. They don't have a clue about the work culture in Germany and take constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement personally. Decisions are made top-down even though not all make sense, they then blame the Japanese headquarter for their actions instead of stepping up to it.
Open appreciation and sincere feedback to staff is unknown to them.

Yes, very international and diverse projects.

Gleichberechtigung

The fact that the management is entirely male speaks for itself. From time to time there are subtle sexist jokes about female colleagues.
There are little chances for women to step up the career ladder in this company.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Respectful.
Dealing with junior colleagues is more of a problem because they communicate fresh ideas and sometimes uncomfortable truths.

Work cell phone, laptop. Airconditioning in the office. Weak internet?

Paper is great.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salary is okay, can be adjusted annually. But new employees are sometimes hired with higher salaries, so more adjustments are needed here.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There is no real career plan and nobody knows about it. Far too complicated. You have to beg for further education.
