To help us build the foundation of our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and passionate:

ESMC Strategic Construction/Facility Procurement Buyer

Tasks

In this role, Strategic Construction/Facility Procurement Buyer will be responsible for driving procurement strategies for the construction and maintenance of the fab, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality sourcing of materials and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services required for the fab construction, hookup, and ongoing facility management.

  2. Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials and services.

  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with construction partners by negotiating contracts, overseeing their performance, and ensuring that they meet project specifications and standards.

  4. Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for price, quality, and delivery.

  5. Oversee procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.

  6. Identify and manage potential risk factors (includes assessing risks associated with supplier reliability, cost fluctuations, material quality, and delivery timelines) and implement strategies to mitigate risks.

  7. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the procurement of construction and facility-related goods and services.

  8. Ensure procurement processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.9. Work closely with the construction, engineering, and facilities management teams to understand and fulfill their procurement needs.

Profile

Job Qualifications:

Qualifications and Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

  2. Master’s degree in a related field and/or professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management. (e.g., Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM))

Must have experience:

  1. Proven experience in procurement (3+ years), specifically in construction, hookup or facility management, within a semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing or international large-scale company.

  2. Experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations for large-scale construction projects.

  3. Experience with partners in CapEx projects. (e.g., for JV business).

  4. Prior own responsibility of product portfolios.

Language Skills:

  • German and English: Full Professional Proficiency or Native / Bilingual Proficiency; Mandarin is desirable and nice to have.

Professional Skills:

  • Communication style: concise, data driven manner.

Personal Attributes:

  1. Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.

  2. Excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities.

  3. Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset.

  4. Detail-oriented and ability to work under pressure.

Training/Onboarding:

  1. Require travel to Taiwan and a stay for training for 3 to 6 months.

  2. Travel to global sites for business trips is also required.

Location: Dresden, Germany.
