Graduate 2025 – Engine and Pressurized Equipment in Hamburg

Are you ready to kickstart your career in our approval section Engines and Pressurized Equipment? We are seeking a graduate who will have finished their studies in 2024/2025 to join our team in 2025!

We are now looking for engineers to strengthen the section Engine and Pressurized Equipment in Hamburg. You will be part of an engaged group driven by people’s competence and motivation to help and support our customers through consistent delivery of high-quality services.

The Approval Centre Europe within Maritime Ship Classification consists of six production departments across three different locations: Gdynia, Poland; Hamburg, Germany; and Oslo (Høvik), Norway. The main delivery from the Approval organization is approval, verification, and certification services for different maritime-related assets in accordance with our rules.

Section/Task description

The Engine and Pressurized Equipment section is part of the Approval Centre Europe in DNV Maritime Ship Classification. We are an international and cross-location team with colleagues working in Oslo and Hamburg.

As an approval engineer in our section, you will become part of a highly qualified team focusing on machinery systems like 2- and 4-stroke engines, turbochargers, fuel cells, and pressure vessels. We are responsible for approval of ship systems against DNV classification rules and international regulations (IGF code). Our section is working closely together with manufacturers. Furthermore, contact with yards, design offices, and ship managers are particularly important.

For this graduate program, DNV is looking for graduates who are ready to start their journey with us in August 2025.

About you

We are seeking machinery engineers who are eager to contribute their expertise at an early stage of their professional journey, to join our dynamic team, and drive innovation in our projects.

We expect that you:

  • Have an Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation/Electrical Technology
  • Are a strong team player with a positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Are able to represent the section both internally and externally and talk to customers worldwide
  • Have good communication and presentation skills
  • Are eager to learn and develop yourself
  • Have organized administrative skills, are systematic and structured
  • Are service-minded, proactive, solution-oriented, and flexible with high professional and personal integrity
  • Are able to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills
  • Have good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, knowledge of German language will be highly preferred
