A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Senior Expert (f/m/d) Power Electronics & Control for Battery Energy Storage  you bring in your hands-on experience in the field of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and power-electronics. You will define the system architecture, leading towards a feasible concept and final product while guiding, training and inspiring our BESS team to create best of its kind products.
How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Guiding and supporting the embedded software team in validation of the high-level models, algorithms and codes based on your field experience, e.g. converter or battery technology.
  • Specifying a wide range of integration tests as well as supervision of integration tests to ensure error-free function in the overall system
  • Specifying components and defining technical requirements in cooperation with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Contributing to the standardization and improvement of our product families and solutions 
  • Preparing and/or review technical documentation, drawings, specifications of electrical components, systems as well as creating and maintaining detailed documentation of design, standards and test procedures.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, software, product management, field installation, commissioning, electrical engineers, and service groups to integrate power electronic systems into solution and take over responsibility for BESS system architecture. 
  • Supporting risk assessments and safety concepts as well as aligning functional safety activities with customers and suppliers
What You Bring
  • Completed university degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power electronics/power system/controls.
  • Long-term professional experience in the field of power electronics/power system/Control Systems, ideally in the areas of battery energy storage projects
  • You are comfortable with prototype design, programming and debugging, mechanical drawings and validation/verification of in-house algorithms.
  • You have both a thorough knowledge of power converters (DC-DC, DC-AC) and of system engineering & architecture ideally applied to battery energy storage systems.
  • You consider sharing information among colleagues as key to develop innovative concepts.
  • Preferably experience in grid code requirements (e.g. VDE AR-N 4110, 4120 etc.) and ideally knowledge about basic standards (IEC 60364, IEC 60664, IEC 61439, IEC 62477, IEC 62933)
  • Hands-on mentality and experience in system testing and defining measurement setups for power-electronics
