With anticipated high growth this year, SIXT is looking for a Director of Procurement to be the driving force behind the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing organization in the US. The leader will spearhead the implementation and continuous improvement of supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement process optimization.

The selected candidate will quickly master the nuances of SIXT Rent a Car, LLC’s strategic imperatives and business operations as well as the challenges and opportunities in the sector. The leader must have sound business sense and be equally adept at marketplace assessments, developing business case and plans of action. Superior judgment, three-dimensional analytical abilities, a collegial approach to problem-solving, and a polished, diplomatic presentation style are all critical to this role.
 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize purchasing needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including negotiating contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and addressing any issues or disputes
  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, ensuring their capabilities and compliance with company standards
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing
  • Continuously assess the supply market to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options
  • Review and administer supplier contracts, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely renewal
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to mitigate risks and resolve contractual issues
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, value analysis, and process improvement
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, legal, and quality assurance teams, to understand business needs, address challenges, and foster effective communication
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization within the procurement function
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supplier dependencies, market fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions
  • Utilize procurement software and tools to analyze data, generate reports, and provide insights to drive informed decision-making. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics to measure procurement performance
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on purchasing goods and services
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and sourcing strategies
  • Experience in contract management, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation 
  • Proficient in using procurement software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
