Your Tasks
You are responsible for managing a team of thematic experts and project partners from various domains, including satellite data, KPI-based service operations, and platform and software development. You ensure that all activities comply with the project work plan, schedule, quality standards, and budget
You act as the main interface for organizational and reporting aspects with the customer, ensuring that both customer needs and project team requirements are well understood and implemented in a balanced manner
You coordinate information flows with supporting units, such as image processing, service operations, technical development, contractual/legal, financial, and ICT, ensuring seamless collaboration between all project tasks and work packages
You are responsible for identifying risks, issues, and deviations and for coordinating the respective mitigation actions
Additionally, you contribute to project progress reporting and documentation and present project results to the customer and international audiences, such as at conferences and symposia
Profile
You have a university degree (MSc) in a relevant subject, such as Geography, Environmental or Geo-Sciences, Remote Sensing, or a similar field
You have more than 10 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in managing complex operational Earth Observation and remote sensing projects. This includes coordinating development and operations teams as well as overseeing progress and quality management
You have profound experience with ESA, EC, and Copernicus projects, including their data, institutions, and the associated conceptual design, implementation, scheduling, and reporting obligations
You have proven experience in managing large international project teams and maintaining a trustful working relationship with customers on a daily basis
You possess state-of-the-art knowledge of public and commercial remote sensing data sources, as well as cloud and platform solutions
You are self-motivated and work independently while fostering a highly integrated and collaborative team environment
You have strong writing skills and excellent oral and technical communication proficiency
You have an analytical and solution-oriented mindset
You are fluent in English at a C1-C2 level according to the CEFR, and knowledge of German is an additional advantage
