SMART AGENCY, a corporate startup of TERRITORY GmbH, is looking for a (Senior) Backend & Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team full-time – either on-site in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich, or 100% remote within Germany.

As a (Senior) Backend & Cloud Engineer at SMART AGENCY, you are the driving force behind our innovative backend systems, building a strong technological foundation for our growing MarTech startup. With your expertise and ideas, you will develop scalable solutions that take our Apps and AI services to the next level.

Activities

Design and maintain the infrastructure for our SaaS product, ensuring reliability and scalability.
Develop robust backend services for applications like payments, hosting, and domain services.
Integrate third-party APIs (REST/GraphQL) or develop custom solutions tailored to our needs.
Implement innovative features, including machine learning models and business logic, and deploy them in the AWS cloud.
Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, EventBridge, and SQS to build efficient, event-driven architectures.
Build and optimize cloud-based infrastructure to support scalable and high-performance applications.
Develop and maintain serverless architectures while provisioning infrastructure for AI-driven services.
Implement system monitoring, logging, and performance optimization to ensure stability, efficiency, and security.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in backend development and cloud engineering.
Expertise in Node.js & TypeScript, bonus points for experience in Python.
Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architectures, including serverless solutions (AWS Lambda) and infrastructure provisioning with AWS CDK.
Solid understanding of database optimization, API design principles, OAuth2 authentication flows, and JWT token management.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and proficiency in advanced Git workflows and branching strategies.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch to track system health and optimize performance.
Fluency in either German or English at a professional level (C-level).
