InLine Hydraulik GmbH has been developing and pro­ducing axial piston pumps for sophis­ticated hydrau­lic systems in a wide range of indus­trial and mobile appli­cations in Berlin since 1993.

With about 130 employees in Berlin-Tempelhof we serve our world­wide customers together with our part­ners HAWE (D) and parent company Hengli (C).

Our products enjoy an excel­lent repu­tation world­wide and together with the parent company Hengli from China we have com­pleted a major invest­ment pro­ject in recent years. Now we will have further poten­tial for our Berlin site.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Operations Director (m/f/d) to oversee the entire operations ecosystem of our organization.

This role encompasses leadership of the machining production department, assembly production department, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations, including production planning, warehouse management, logistics, and dispatch.

The Operations Director (m/f/d) will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring seamless coordination across all departments, and delivering results aligned with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires a proven leader with strong expertise in manufacturing operations, supply chain optimization, and team development.

Your responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Oversight:

  • Leadership and management of teams in areas such as warehousing/logistics, assembly, manufacturing, process and quality management, and supply chain.

Production Management:

  • Monitoring workflows, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
  • Optimization of resource allocation (personnel, machines, materials) to meet production goals.
  • Implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaboration with the engineering team to seamlessly integrate changes in product design into production.

Optimization of Manufacturing Processes:

  • Monitoring production KPIs, including cycle times, downtime, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Supply Chain Management:

  • Internal purchasing, inventory control, and supplier management with regard to OTD (On-Time Delivery).
  • Development and implementation of supply chain strategies that align with production requirements and market demands.

Production Planning and Control:

  • Monitoring and adjusting production plans to address bottlenecks, delays, and urgent priorities.

Warehouse, Logistics, and Shipping Management:

  • Overseeing warehouse operations to ensure efficient storage, inventory control, and order fulfillment.

Safety:

  • Ensuring compliance with all operational processes according to industry standards, legal regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Providing regular operational reports and insights to the leadership team.
  • Implementing corrective actions based on data-driven insights to address performance deficiencies.

What we expect:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. (An MBA or higher degree is preferred.)
  • Relevant certifications such as Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), Lean Manufacturing are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Several years of professional experience in a similar role with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership position responsible for manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Proven successes in leading mechanical engineering and assembly production, manufacturing processes, and supply chain functions.
  • Experience in leading large teams and multidisciplinary operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering processes, assembly operations, manufacturing systems, and supply chain management.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with a strong focus on KPIs and continuous improvement.
