A Snapshot of Your Day
The workday in the office typically begins with the weekly meeting of the Strategic Procurement team, where current topics and challenges are discussed. A particular focus is placed on the area of Large Power Transformers (LPT). Interactions with suppliers, which take place either on-site at the plant or virtually via Microsoft Teams, constitute another important part of your responsibilities. As a Strategic Buyer, you are also responsible for handling larger procurement projects, especially for LPT components, as well as coordinating internal communication between stakeholders and suppliers. These tasks give a smooth workflow and the optimization of procurement processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You are responsible for defining the sourcing strategy, including the choice between single, dual, or multiple sources and the implementation of Kanban systems.
- Developing negotiation strategies using eAuction, eBidding, or Advanced Negotiation Concepts (ANC) is also part of your duties.
- You establish contractual foundations with strategic suppliers, setting prices, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
- Acquiring quotes, conducting detailed bid comparisons, and creating price comparisons fall under your responsibility.
- You promote the development of new suppliers and products based on the material field strategy.
- Optimizing procurement processes and contributing to the improvement of adjacent processes round out your job profile.
What You Bring
- You have completed studies in the field of Business Administration and/or Engineering.
- Very good German language skills, at least at B2 level, and good English language skills are required.
- Extensive SAP knowledge and several years of practical experience in the management of C-parts are available.
- Competence in analyzing large data sets as well as in process thinking and process optimization is given.
- High negotiation skills, assertiveness, and critical thinking characterize you.
- Resilience, commitment, and knowledge of operational contexts round out your profile.

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 51.314,34 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
