It feels like working with friends. I get along with all my coworkers and we always manage to have fun during our tasks.
Kommunikation
That often doesn't work as expected. If something is important to you, you gotta make sure everybody is on the same page because *right now* (August 2022) information often goes missing, updates aren't properly shared, etc. But this problem is currently being addressed and there's a push for better documentation that's constantly updated and works as a "single-source-of-truth" on Confluence. The projects that have already adopted this are working wonderfully and the plan is now to expand it throughout the whole company.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The team is really cool and fun to work with. Every one helps each other out and knowledge is freely shared amongst ourselves. There's never a feeling of competition, only camaraderie. This is a remote-first company, so people at home don't really miss out on anything important, though, if you can, I highly recommend popping by the office. The lunches, jokes and efficiency with which you get stuff done there are unbeatable.
Work-Life-Balance
This company is unique in my experience in the sense that they never treat you like a replaceable tool. You're a fellow human being, with priorities outside of work and as long as you're open about it, they'll support you as much as possible (e.g. "hey guys, I'm having some serious health issues in the family, which might require me to miss a few meetings, I'll keep you updated on when I'm unavailable, but I just wanted you to be aware").
Just be honest, keep them in the loop and they'll help you to find a comfortable solution in which you can work, while still having the time you need to address your issues.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
I find my bosses (Project Manager and Tech Lead) to be extremely good-humoured, fair people. They *are* your bosses, though. There are standards to be maintained and expectation that should be met. Still, they're always polite, respectful, understanding and rather chilled about the whole thing. I really love working with them.
Interessante Aufgaben
Once per quarter there's the 2-day "Hackathon" event. Those are THE most fun part about working here (expect for the parties). You get to pick something new to play with that could make your everyday job better or more fun. If you pick something particularly fitting, this project will be expanded into an OKR and you get to work on that throughout the year. Those are AMAZING. Otherwise, client work (which is also the majority of your work) can be rather uninspiring, but this is so in every agency. Still, ideas are welcome. And cool ideas make it all worth-while once they're picked up.
Gleichberechtigung
I've never experienced nor heard any difference in treatment. Neither concerning misogyny, xenophobia nor homophobia. The IT department has mostly men, so far, but gender never really enters the conversation. LGBTQ people talk about and introduce their partners and children and it's never an issue. It's a very international environment, with daily operations happening in english and the "worst" that can happen is that a colleague doesn't know how to express themselves in english, but the others usually jump in and help translate it to the bigger group.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
They do the usual things almost every company in Hamburg does. But the cool bit is that they are very welcoming of employee-initiative, often going the extra mile and advertising it internally so that others can help and contribute. It's also not rare that teammates collect donations instead of birthday presents.

On par with other agencies in Hamburg right now.

They keep getting awards. Their reputation is very good and deservedly so. One star has been deducted for the internal communication issues that, although they are improving quickly, do still exist.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
They are very open about the criteria of each position and how you can advance. There's a yearly meeting in which your performance is evaluated according to a table. You have access to this table all year-round and can make notes and updates on what you think is relevant for your evaluation. So overall very clear, continuous opportunity to grow.
