Management, low-quality co-workers, botch, many self-deceptive and self-deceptive people.

I found very friendly colleagues and super toxic colleagues and everything in between.

Work-Life-Balance

Mandatory on-call phone duty. Happenend several times that I got calls in the middle of the night, on weekends, on Friday after 20:00.

Many bugs forced people to work overtime.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

My expressed poor technical expertise. My product owner did not know what an API was. Nice. My Dev lead was rarely around, only repeating generic phrases and expressing technical deficiencies. Still managing to force us into a direction none of us agreed with.

Interessante Aufgaben

certainly interesting at first, later less interesting, also repetitive grind, lots of repetitive meetings.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Noisy open office floor plan with tight seat layout. Not a problem during Corona, though.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Some grassroots initiatives exists, like, creating awareness for waste separation. Besides, upper management pays lip service to environmental friendliness. I think they don't even use Ökostrom.
The products, the whole processes are, mildly put, less environmentally friendly than I expected.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

I talked openly with colleagues about salaries. The average salaries were not good. Bonuses seem to exist.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

No carreer paths, no promotion prospects.
Seemed like unless something like a layoff happens, you're stuck with your role.
In the IT, the common training budget, like virtually every company offers it, exists.
