Cog in a machine
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Location
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Obsession with time keeping, no real interaction with colleagues outside of immediate project.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Allow employees some freedom to help colleagues, not every single minute needs to be recorded
Arbeitsatmosphäre
It's quiet. There are drinks, fresh fruit and breakfast on Fridays.
Kommunikation
A lot is talked about communication, but no real communication. If you are not working directly on a project, you have no idea about it. I worked here over 2 years and I had colleagues that I could not tell you what they do.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
People keep to themselves. They talk to their colleagues when they have to, for work. Little chitchat as employees have to track their time down to every 15 minutes in the time keeping system. You can't help a colleague on an issue unless they have time budgeted in their project for it. There is no buffer for internal work, as most employees have to bill at least 75% of their time.
Work-Life-Balance
Core hours were 9-16 when I worked here, allowing coming in at 7 and leaving earlier or getting in later but working later.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
I had three different bosses in 2 years and not because I changed jobs. One worked on the same project as me and was easy to relate to and set clear goals. Of course that only lasted a few months until a re-org.
Interessante Aufgaben
No way. You do what pays the company's bills, it is a consultanting company after all. I asked for a new project countless times during my tenure, as I was bored silly. Never got it, I assume due to the fact that I billed out well and kept the money flowing in.
Gleichberechtigung
Other than the head of HR, there was only one other female manager at my time there. She is married to a member of the Geschaftsführung.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
We had plenty of older colleagues. If you know what you are doing, age does not matter.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
To get a raise, you need to prove to them why they should give you more money. The fact that your billing rate went up 10% does not seem to cut it. They get more money from the client, you get swat.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
The only external training I had during my years there was a how to sell better (I was not in a sales position) and some "Kraft der Sprache" stuff. Neither of which I was interested in, but they seemed mandatory, so I did them. Can't say I got anything out of them, other than to keep quiet when other people stop talking since it is a tactic to get you to talk more. One that one of my managers here used All. The. Time.
