Much to be desired
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
First, the obvious: Work devices. It is unacceptable that, in 2020, we’re still doing recruitment like it’s the previous century (stationary computer instead of laptops and stationary phones instead of mobile phones). This setup made the switch to remote work unnecessarily difficult.
Second, more flexibility with regards to the working hours. That’s one of the best aspects of a home office, having more autonomy. Started 30 minutes later? Not a problem, just finish 30 minutes later. It’s noon but you’re not yet hungry? Go to lunch later. Too many things to take care of on a Wednesday to do any productive work? This can happen, just make up for it on Saturday.
Oh, and thirdly, a shift of 8 hours is enough. Anything above that is overtime and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

Arbeitsatmosphäre
Templeton and Partners was one of the last firms in our shared office to switch to home offices. When we’ve already had confirmed cases, we first did “test runs” with select employees to check whether business can continue as usual when working from home, effectively exposing the remaining employees to infected working spaces.
Once we’ve finally got the green light to leave, we were expected to use our own devices and install third party software on it to conduct our work duties (one of which being Zoom, which had recently received bad pr for its privacy infringements) instead of being given work laptops and phones.
Zoom is used, among others, for our end-of-week conference call, in which employees were to mention something they were grateful for during the week. One employee who stated not have a highlight to report about was let go on the following Monday (yes, amidst a global pandemic in a country where your health insurance is tied to your job; it takes a special kind of evil to go through with something like this)
Work-Life-Balance
Shifts began at 8:30 and ended at 18:00 without the overtime being acknowledged as such (i.e., not paid or translated into additional paid time off). Everyone had been alarmed in an email sent to all that employees logging in too late and/or logging out too early had been duly noted.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
The company insisted on end-of-week conference calls (for which employees had to install third party software on their private devices because no work devices are being provided to work remotely), in which employees were to mention something they were grateful for during the week. Interessante Aufgaben
Client acquisition - you have to have the right personality for this but it can be really, really interesting work!

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
The salary in Berlin is not great but ok with 38k per year plus bonuses but the colleagues in London are being treated unfairly by receiving a lower salary while living in a much more expensive city)
Image
After the company’s behavior during this health crisis, I cannot imagine how their image could recover from this.
