Absolut gar nichts.
Alles.
ALLES.
It is hard to put into words how traumatic and toxic the work environment in this office is. Employees are not allowed to talk to each other if it’s not work related. Everyone is being closely monitored and work hours and lunch breaks are being tracked via cameras that are placed in the whole office. Very distracting music is put on full blast throughout the whole office and if someone dares to lower the volume so they could focus on work they would get fined 39,99€! (Sounds like a joke but we literally got a memo regarding this)
It’s expected to stay longer than working hours, leaving on time is not appropriate so everyone just stays 10-15 minutes longer even if there is no work to do.
Supervisors contact you on weekends, vacation days or in the middle of the night on WhatsApp - if you don’t answer you get a warning and they tell you it’s disrespectful
Mostly plastic cups and cutlery are being used in this office.
Trying to grow or have a career in this company is just a waste of time because this is a family business and all higher positions are filled with relatives. No chance on getting a promotion or getting any type of management position.
I would say it’s good but there is not really a chance of getting to know the colleagues since talking about non-work related topics is not allowed during office hours. If you do so, you would get a warning from the supervisor. And since employees are changing on a weekly basis, it’s hard to keep a good work relationship
They mostly higher young graduates who are just out of university. Most employees are younger than 35.
You never get any encouragement or compliments for working hard or doing a good job. They always find a way to make you feel like you’re not doing enough. There is no trust between supervisors and employees thats why they micromanage everything. When an employee is on sick leave supervisors don’t believe them and go ask their colleagues if they sounded or seemed sick the day before.
It’s a nice and modern office with good equipment
There is no transparency or communication happening between employees and the heads of the company.
People are getting fired and hired on a daily basis and no one is allowed to ask questions. New employees don’t even get introduced to colleagues, they just show up without anyone knowing anything about them. And some colleagues just suddenly stop showing up, that’s when we know they got fired.
Sometimes we would come back on a Monday and see that our desks were moved to a different part of the office without even informing us or telling us why they did it. We just had to accept it and not talk about it.
I would say most employees are underpaid. asking for a raise is not an option, because employees are scared to get fired for asking.
All management positions are filled with family members or male employees. There is no chance at all to ever be considered for a management position in this company.
Working in e-commerce is interesting but not in this work environment
For me personally was complicated to combine working/university/personal life.
As a part-time working opportunity, it is a great option for learning something new.
I was on good terms with most of the colleagues, we went for a lunch/coffee break together.
A bit complex communication but after discussions about complexities, communication was better.
Possibilities to gain knowledge about online retailing, and areas of engagement (in my case was marketing).
The office if very modern and equipped with everything one needs (various coffee machines, a fridge with snacks, showers, lots of space).
Low payment, people being hired and fired at astronomical speed, extremely awkward atmosphere when something "bad" happens.
Keep (good) employees instead of hiring and firing them like it's a game and focus on building their skills, concentrate on creating a good atmosphere in which employees feel heard and safe, take employees' concerns seriously instead of backfiring with arrogance, communicate instead of "sweeping everything under the rug" even though everyone knows what's going on, hire managers who are pro-active and actually know what they're doing, pay people more.
Massive lack of team spirit within the company accompanied by an extremely weird atmosphere in the office due to the constant fear of being fired at any given time. Basically, everyone keeps to themselves unless you have someone on the team you get along with and even that's frowned upon. Nobody really talks to anyone outside of one's own team (max. during the lunch break). It seems as if employees are too afraid to say anything at all.
It probably seems better from the outside than it actually is on the inside.
On my team, it was never a problem to take time off or go to an (urgent) appointment. Because we weren't provided with work phones but rather used our private numbers, messages were also received outside of the working hours which is why I put all work-related groups on silent (or else I would've gone crazy).
As far as I remember, there are different bins for paper, general waste and plastic.
Either you get offered a rise and nothing ever happens to that offer, you get offered a rise and get fired shortly after or you actually get the rise but nothing changes with either your personal development or skills.
As I mentioned above, if you have a colleague you get along with, you better talk to them when no ones's near you. In general, people get along fine, however, as soon as one of the managers is close by, it gets very quiet very quickly.
Although the relationship between managers and the rest of the employees seem casual and relaxed, it becomes very clear how little empathy managers truly have and how oblivious they are to the fact that they have no idea what's actually going on "beneath them". During one of the peaks of COVID-19, the opportunity of working from home wasn't even offered. It took managers weeks if not months to finally realise that it wasn't the best idea to keep about 40 people in an office. In addition, any type of critique or concern was not welcomed at all.
The office is very modern and provides all technical equipment needed (large desks, PC with two desktops, pens & paper,...)
The communication between certain departments is a constant battle as deadlines are sometimes only announced an hour before even though they take much longer to fulfill. Other times, departments are confused as to who is responsible for certain tasks which creates a "back-and-forth" and results in nothing but confusion that may last for days.
Definitely underpaid.
The majority of high positions are only occupied by men.
Interesting to work for a relatively new company that's able to compete with international e-commerce platforms. However, at some point, the learning curve flattened out and nothing really new to learn came along.
The company has a potential to be an amazing, interesting and creative workplace, but the management style has to be completely changed before this will ever be possible.
Management, chaotic planning, a lot of pressure, payment, working environment. People are rarely staying more than one year at the company. I would not recommend joining this company.
Hire proper managers, who have experience of leading a team and taking the responsibilities. Organise the work-processes and make better planning. Stop micromanaging and create a clear corporate hierarchy. Hire HR who would actually be able to help with work related problems. Instead of hiring and firing the people all the time, focus on current employees and creating a better working environment for them.
The most toxic environment ever. Employees are not treated with respect, managers are not standing up for their department. People are hired and fired all the time without any announcement, which creates lot of pressure. Every other day is extremely stressful, instead of proper feedback sessions or adequate critics, employees are just being fired. The working environment is so stressful, that lots of employees quit during the first year.
The private space of the employees is completely disrespected. For the communication the private WhatsApp numbers are used. Managers are writing and calling during the weekend and outside the working hours a lot, sometimes requiring to do something urgently. Employees are expected to stay after working hours every day (without payment).
There is hardly anyone who gets promoted. Employees are rotated between the departments all the time, but it does not come with any extra payment.
Cannot say for all departments, but mostly underpaid.
There is no proper recycling of trash, boxes and packaging.
The relationship between colleagues is nice and friendly, however, any form of communication between employees is not really welcome, so sometimes it's not even possible to have small talk.
The team is mostly very young.
Even though it might seem that the relationship between higher managers and employees is relaxed, the power distance is really big. It is extremely complicated to present any ideas, as every process is being micromanaged.
The office is relatively well equipped.
No clear management and distribution of responsibilities. All the decisions are made chaotic and spontaneously, therefore there are 'urgent' tasks all the time with short deadlines and huge pressure. The communication between the departments is not working, the projects are being on hold for months.
There is not a single woman in a higher management position. Every woman in the company is managed by a man, even if hired for a manager position.
There are some interesting activities and even space for creativity, but the effort is usually not appreciated and deadlines are so tight, that it makes it rather stressful than enjoyable to work on something.
k.A.
ziemlich arrogant
