The atmosphere is unpleasant, there is a negative culture throughout the company that "the one who works the most hours is the best" I saw people working 12 hours a day. I was required to answer messages late at night or weekends, come in earlier and leave later my working hours, work Sundays and holidays for free! Also the company is a family company, if you are not their family, then you have to earn their "trust" which creates a tense atmosphere among the workers. And even if you had won their "trust", they did not guarantee you job security or salary increases.
The culture of fear and mid-century was here: It looked good to work 7 days a week if possible (I think some people did) if you left from 9-6, you were looked down upon and labelled as lazy or not committed to the company. However, it was very common for me to get messages later, even on a Friday at 11pm.
The employees are not to blame. But no one was talking to anyone and no activities were taking place outside the office.
Supervisors follow the image of executives and behave like them.
The office was comfortable, large and modern in a good location in Vienna. But it did nothing to motivate many employees.
The ego of the executives of this company is hilarious! In addition to the department heads, they behave the same way, which breaks efficient communication between hierarchies. The turnover in this company is very high.
There was a lot to learn, as it was a growing company, however, it was very difficult to progress in the company.
Absolutely nothing
Just read my previous comments, I could write a book about these guys it is actually sad.
When hiring new employees, maybe you should start with the basics, which you failed to show. These are namely: proper on-boarding (was introduced to everything in a matter of few hours), have weekly meetings that are constructive, and show some sort of compassion so employees feel comfortable. With that said, do not hire and then fire the person in the same week because they are not learning as fast as you thought they would (also how can someone learn everything in a week). Teach your employees the basics about the company, the logistics, etc, and be their mentor!
There is constant pressure and tension within the team, which does not aid the overall work setting. The industry itself is demanding and full of urgent requests, so I do not want to refute that fact. However, the relationship with the manager was essentially non-existent (with the team it was a bit better) and the way tasks were communicated and handled was awful. There is a clear hierarchy and little room for improvement. Needless to say, an awful and traumatic place to work.
Image online seems good, but once you´re in, you´re done for. Just have a look at the other comments and you will understand. If you have over 8-9 people saying that this company is a complete devastation, ask yourself if you want to work here.
Non-existent!! If you are looking to tick all possible psychological conditions from WebMD and be scarred for life, then this job is for you. You are not respected here, you are seen as a cheap asset who needs to get numerous tasks done in a short amount of time. Not to mention, you will also get WhatsApp messages during the evening/late at night, the weekends, as well as early mornings which will additionally present the fact that you need to be working whenever needed. Do not be shocked to receive requests from the manager to start work at very early in the morning or late at night for "last minute requests". Remember, you are NOT compensated for working over-time so you have to draw the line (but you might get fired for doing so). Needless to say, people here do not have the flexibility that a freelancer should have, so STAY AWAY from this company.
It is a family-owned business so forget being promoted or praised for your work. You will be chastised and condescended for every single thing that you do. Stop trying to sell the story that you are the "worlds leading children's online clothing store" and that we should be grateful to work here. All of us ex-workers are very much aware of your malicious intentions and it´s disgusting.
For a company that praises itself as the "leading children´s online retail company", the compensation and benefits are a JOKE. Working in a service-based job that are usually belittled, you will be compensated more fairly and usually have fun colleagues and social gatherings. Once again, stay away from this place!
Colleagues were very sweet and helpful, a lot more helpful than the managers. Whenever I had questions regarding the tasks, the company, or simply wanted to chat, they were available. Now, one might think: why the two stars? The reason for this is because the company simply does not deserve more than that - you are pressuring your employees to work hard and fast as possible for a compensation that is miserable, especially taking into consideration that this company operates in one of the most wealthiest countries in the world. Because the manager is so narcissistic, entitled, and incompassionate this caused colleagues to not talk with each other as you always had the feeling you might get fired for not working 24/7. Bambinifashion, your employees deserve more, you should be ashamed of yourself!
I already answered this in the previous comments. The superiors are awful, egoistic, incompassionate, and horrible people to even talk to. Under-qualified as well but at the end of the day, this is a family-owned company so there is nothing you can do. Do yourself a favor and hire qualified individuals with management experience - people are getting fired and hired at astronomical speed (usually without notice) so I am still surprised this company has not been scrutinized.
Disgusting, miserable, just a few words to describe this particular category. Not sure how it is in the office as I worked remotely but based on the other comments here it is clearly not better.
Building on my previous point, there is practically little to no communication (not sure how it was in different departments but mine was awful). Whenever I had inquiries, they were answered either at the end of the working day (which resulted in over-time, which is not compensated) or there was no answer at all. Because of this, it was always the employee who was at fault which should not be the case. Managers/superiors almost never show up to meetings and they do not inform their employees about this. When we do have meetings, the overall vibe is awkward and no one knows anything. Bad management, under-qualified superiors, and clear exploitation of employees for personal gain is all I can say.
The company is diverse, but only for the reason to up their image. They clearly exploit individuals from middle to low-income countries as an average individual working and living in Austria would be appalled with the working conditions.
Tasks were quite diverse so I did learn something useful.
Fast growing company
Be more modern, flexible schedules, professiona HR department that is not influenced by the owners. Less camera control, and please don’t bring the personal issues to the office
Most of the employers are scared and don’t really trust the management, the turnover is very high because the superiors and owners are always on your back. The control is absolute trough cameras located everywhere (your desk, kitchen, fridges, halls, etc) that are constantly checked. There are no outdoor activities or benefits for the employers. A lot of things are taking personal and sometimes, if one owner is in bad mood, you can feel the bad energy in the office all day
Owners and managers expect you to come before and after the official start-end shift with no compensation. Expect to receive cal on the weekends and late at night asking complex questions or even to complain at something done in the office. No home office facility, very hard to take a day off even for important matters.
Very bad pay. The owners also role as HR, they decide the salary which is very very hard to get 50 euros raise, and if they give you they will expect you to come over times. It doesn’t matter how long you work for the company, you can have the same salary for 3 years
There is almost no communication between departments, no outdoor or after work activities and the turn over is high which is hard to meet people. But is is mostly young and international staff
Your day depends of the owners are in good or bad mood. In most of the employers there are no trust between them and owners /superiors even if they want to show that. I never trusted none of them, and I was right.
The salary is very bad, the control and stress is part of the routine, and you barely get any benefit. The company culture is “who sacrifice the most for the company” that means coming on weekends and working 12 hours a day, off course, with out any extra payment
Employers are scared to complain, there is not a HR department (The HR is the superior manager or owner) which makes an impartial environment. Employers tend to compite to be the most liked by the owners which also damage the good vibes. But sometimes they celebrate birthdays and some colleagues are nice
Is a competitive company that grow fast, which give me some experience to work somewhere else. But after a time there is no where to grow.
