Back to the 19th Century
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
This company proudly traces its history back to the mid-19th century Ottoman empire, and that's where its culture seems to be stuck. Lots of talk about sustainability, but look deeper. Most of the funds it claims are "sustainable" are nothing of the sort.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Company is backward and decades behind most other financial institutions even in Switzerland. Very little in the way of employee benefits, or thinking of employees as anything other than assets. Home office is frowned upon and presenteeism is expected, and you're warned that big brother is watching to see you're at your desk. They left it to the very last minute to send people home during the pandemic in a mad rush and had to scramble to find a way to allow staff to WFH despite having months to prepare. The situation did not improve even by the last lockdown. They use archaic boot sticks for logging on and there weren't enough to go round.
Internal communications is virtually non-existent except for essential updates. They treat employees as assets to be hired and fired and to whom it owes nothing more than to pay a salary and sometimes not even that. On leaving, a large part of my salary was deducted without explanation and I'm still in the process of retrieving it.
HR is one of the arrogant and contemptuous I've ever experienced. They rarely return enquiries. They conceal relevant and important information to protect themselves and place employees in impossible situations without regard to the consequences. No sense of responsibility or obligation beyond the absolute minimum. Not a company I would recommend under any circumstances.
