Arbeitsatmosphäre
Flaunting of team spirit and speak up culture but true constructive criticism or improvement ideas will be marked as negative behavior resulting in low performance review ratings or career blocking personal development. No Team, every one on its own…opportunistic behavior. Information flows or support of other team members - non-existing. Careers are planned in the elite groups. High performers stand no chance to be considered if not part of specific groups.
Kommunikation
Important and decisive communication is firstly shown in social media. New Management and HR Head are very busy in updating their social media profiles and posts than investing the efforts in an internal communication. No transparency in communication but at the same time the company promotes a “speak up’ culture - employees do not communicate honestly because of finger pointing and negative implications. HR department (consultants) does not care and do not take concerns seriously.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Depending on the people but in the end opportunistic behavior is leading. A team does not exist. Be aware - colleagues are feigning interest to get where they want to get or by whom they can benefit the most. Certain colleagues selling others work and efforts as their own, eg Business Unit Additives.
Work-Life-Balance
Home Office especially after (!) Covid-19 now possible for 40%. However, depending on the managers not really desired to work from home. Old management style of pseudo control do prevail.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Nepotism at its best. Managers do either like you or dislike you - Managers do not trust their employees. Severe problem is that managers get into manager positions not by skills and leadership capabilities. The latter will be displayed whenever possible (no greeting, projects are assigned to other more preferred colleagues, constructive criticism is equivalent to ‘not being part of the inner circle’, egocentric type of managers (male AND female), Promotions are not based on performance and expertise but on preference, fulfilling DE&I quota to get women - irrespective of their skills - into questionable promotions (leaving male applicants to quit), ethnicity (look at their latest ELT Team composed of only Europeans and Americans) and persuading colleagues that the performance is lacking decisive points (Attention - they will ALWAYS find a personal soft skill that looks bad on you).
Interessante Aufgaben
Projects are assigned according to personal preferences. If you opt for new interesting projects, they will put you on the waiting list.
Gleichberechtigung
Company flaunts DE&I in social media (Management and HR Head are not tired of posting), does not live it. diversity stands for women empowerment (heavily promoted by HR Head) leaving age, ethnicity or other untouched. The quota of women must be fulfilled. Women can easily do sabbatical >2years and return, men do not stand a chance.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Contracts of colleagues having been with the company for >25 years have been terminated in the course of the latest restructuring. New Management does not show any respect towards these people, who have build up the company.
Arbeitsbedingungen
IT Hardware is ok but could have more up-to-date RAM to work efficiently. Additional Hardware can be ordered (if needed). Electrically operated tables in modern offices but not on sites. Mobile phones are not up-to-date (iPhone SE and Android is not even possible). Enough GB for storage available. The canteen is subsidized.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
It’s a chemical company - what do you expect?! Sustainability topics are increasingly promoted but plans for Scope 2 and Scope 3 are lacking speed and detailing.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Certain salary levels might compensate for the negative aspects - depending on location.

The company is very well represented in social media and social activities (pictures, events, product launches, new production sites). Paints a picture that is not reflecting reality.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Hardly any personal development. Trainings are mostly internal and important external trainings are only given to “superior’ performing colleagues that have received their rating based on personal preferences , being part of the inner circle. Internal trainings do lack the knowledge and avoid an outer look on different topic. Promotion depend on…did you build up your network? are you a woman? with DE&I, you will stand a good chance. Are you European?
