It's a unique place. Simply non-standard.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Very likable colleagues and a wonderfully warm atmosphere. The organisation has grown a lot over recent years, and more is expected of it, and this shows e.g. in the occasional immaturity of the processes, but at the same time this creates a situation where change and development are possible, even necessary. A start-up without being start-uppy.
Kommunikation
This has become very transparent. Regular team-meetings and other forms of interaction and communication. Information is mostly relevant.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Very good. Some departments are a bit focused on their own business, but the House tries to be as inclusive as possible.
Work-Life-Balance
There are periods during the year, especially when we do the Congress with 12'000 participants, which are stressful, but they are also fun because then we get to meet all our stakeholders. Overtime can usually be fully compensated. We only do 40 hours / week.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
This has greatly improved over time. Some of the managers are still young in their roles.
Interessante Aufgaben
Decidedly yes, we get to work with rheumatologists and patients across Europe.
Gleichberechtigung
The majority in the house are women. Men seem to to gaining recognition, though.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Hard to say, the majority of the team is still young.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Wonderful villa in Kilchberg, close to the lake. But cramped, and no real meeting spaces. It seems to be a tradeoff between being in a nice place and having a modern working environment. Laptops and screens are very good.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
EULAR is about the patients. But the work, unfortunately, requires many meetings abroad, and this means using planes. Trains are rarely possible, but some of us try.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Decent when compared to similar organisations. Cannot compete with capitalist companies.

EULAR is THE organisation for rheumatology and musculoskeletal diseases. It defines some of the important standards and runs the world's most important Congress in that field.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Greta place for people when they start, and chances to develop as the organisation develops. First signs of a career model, and of further training, but that still needs improvement.
