Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The team is great and a lot of the work is actually interesting.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Where should I start... The company is pretty disorganized, which is partially a result of the extremely high turnover but can mainly be attributed to management micromanaging everybody and randomly interfering with projects, pushing for unreasonable and often unnecessary deadlines which leads to decreased quality. Management is pretty unpredictable, you can be the knight in shining armor one day and the most stupid person in the universe the next, and there's usually no clear reasoning behind either of those reactions. In general, staff has been constantly reduced over the last years, as people were leaving and often not replaced. Probably to save money or because they're considered obsolete since some highly qualified and devoted people were able to cover most of the work for some time - obviously this system can only work for a while and leads to extreme exhaustion in the remaining staff. Unfortunately, this thought has not crossed management's mind yet and the commitment of employees is met with ingratitude, more pressure, and an attempt to make everybody feel dispensable.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Start considering that your employee's work is actually worth something, that not everybody is replaceable within days, without at least a certain loss of knowledge. Stop talking shit about employees behind their back, and start appreciating how much of their time and energy most people here invest. Stop micromanaging everybody. Start to show some kind of appreciation to employees. Stop expecting people to do overtime and work weekends. Pay people what they deserve and start hiring people based on their experience rather than choosing the ones with the lowest salary demands. Stop lying, maybe it will help to build trust in others. Stop ranking promptness higher than quality (this might save you some clients). Stop taking on projects without checking capacities and start prioritizing, not everything can be utterly urgent. Start listening to your employees, if they tell you that certain things are not possible. Maybe ask yourself, why those projects which do not involve management at all are usually the ones working best.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Due to a lack of appreciation of employees and their work by the management, combined with an absence of organization or prioritizing, the atmosphere is extremely demotivating, frustrating, often openly assaulting, and stressful. The colleagues are amazing though!

Kommunikation

Communication between the management end employees often includes a rough tone. Often information (e.g. on terminations) is intentionally kept from employees, which builds a general environment of dishonesty.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

There are a lot of bright, lovely people here, which I enjoy a lot to work with.

Work-Life-Balance

Employees are expected to work overtime and sometimes weekends, which is not always compensated. As management works pretty much 24/7 there is a lack of understanding of why employees are not willing to do the same, leading management to feel that everyone despite themselves is lazy. Overtime compensation and vacations often have to be fought for. If you're persistent enough, you'll get it, it's usually a fight, which is exhausting.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Dishonest, controlling, non-appreciative, and disorganized, employees get pressured a lot, and some are bullied. Decisions can often change from one day to another and are therefore not reliable, the same accounts for goals.

Interessante Aufgaben

Most of the tasks are generally interesting, unfortunately often there's not enough time to focus on the interesting ones.

Gleichberechtigung

Women, especially pregnant women and those with kids are less respected.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There are mostly young people (first job), but the way you're treated is not dependent on age.

Arbeitsbedingungen

A lot of people can work from home, which is good. Equipment is fine in general, maybe some software investments are questionable. However, the atmosphere in the office is very bad when management is there. There are often arguments between senior staff.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Not really a thing here.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Usually, people have to start as interns (independent of their academic degrees). For most people the salary is below average compared to market values for Zurich. Benefits are held to the legal minimum.

Image

I guess the number of negative ratings here speaks for itself.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Due to "flat hierarchy" aka everybody reporting directly to management, there's no real possibility for promotion. If you happen to get more responsibility this will not be represented in your salary. Haven't witnessed anybody being supported with regard to continuing education.
