Balancing low pay, flexible hours, long projects, equipment and complex bonuses...
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Challenging, to say the least. When things go well, lots of smiles and positivity in the room. A few "complaints" here and there about the salaries, but life goes on. When the prospect of not meeting targets looms, a certain level of tension becomes palpable, and one can detect the manager's inclinations towards excessive control. The lack of a -serious- reward system makes successes feel "meh" and failures unbearable
Kommunikation
In person communication is perfect, written communication is just unbearable. Tons of useless emails, quadruple-checking issues, spamming in team groups, even the ones including employees that have nothing to do with that particular issue.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The fear of resigning and having to find another job is a great motivator, as it seems. There is not much interdepartmental communication, but this seemed to be working ok. Backstabbing or shit-talking each other happens aswell, but most of the times does not affect the results of the team(s).
Work-Life-Balance
In order to earn more as a trainer, you have to work more. In other departments it is the nature of the job that includes weekends and/or early mornings, late nights, that -even if one would have free time to do something- they must be fed up and rather not do anything.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
You see peoples' true face when failure approaches. C-Level is -the least to say- disconnected from the "front line", unless it is closer to the company's HQ. In-Club Management is helpful, friendly and understanding
Interessante Aufgaben
Most departments have a fair share in the club's success and do interesting things. Trainer department is getting paid 23chf/hr. for -mostly- non-trainer duties.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Trainer Desk Area a bit messy, but has the infrastructure with everything a trainer would need. There is no consultation room, which makes sales a bit awkward in the corridor
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Regular initiatives related to social campaigns and more
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
below industry average in some departments
Image
Somehow everybody has a great image of this company, I guess it is its people and the lake that keep the flag up
Karriere/Weiterbildung
"If you don't like it, leave" - mentality, fleeting onboardings and information overload, complex processes. No Swiss-Wide seminars or similar. Older employees super helpful
