Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The office and equipment, the diverse teams and tasks (at least from an intern's point of view) and most aspects of the company culture.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Limited to non-existent career opportunities. You're either willing to go to Dusseldorf (if you get lucky and they offer you something) or you will have to look for a new job once your internship ends. Don't buy it when they tell you that anything is possible - just ask some of the former interns / employees.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Stop making false promises and telling interns that the prospects are better than they actually are. It is incredibly frustrating to finish school and start an internship, just to find out six months later that all those opportunities are non-existent and you have to start from zero again. Not everyone wants to go to Dusseldorf, so just be transparent from the start (= the interview!) and let people think about whether they are open for such a possibility. Alternatively, only hire interns that you can send back to school once their internship ended.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

It was very good in the beginning and I liked how friendly, respectful and approachable everyone was. However, over time you noticed some general dissatisfaction and particularly the fight for non-existent positions was extremely frustrating, ultimately impacting the work atmosphere negatively.

Kommunikation

There are some initiatives to improve international communication, also with DACH. Communication with HR is extremely frustrating.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Apart from some minor tensions between certain people, the overall team spirit was good and I was very satisfied with my colleagues.

Work-Life-Balance

There is a high workload and from time to time you will also work additional hours on the weekend. However, as you are there to learn it is still reasonable.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Really depends on your manager, like in every company. While some are supportive and want to see you succeed, others don't invest much time or effort.

Interessante Aufgaben

Overall, I was very pleased with my tasks and could learn a lot.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

I haven't heard anything negative, but generally there are many young people working there.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Modern building and office equipment, new iPhones.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Not perfect, but in general I had the impression that sustainability was of high importance and affected most internal decisions.

Image

In general, L'Oreal has a very good standing, however this doesn't always align with the experiences you make as an employee.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

In theory, anything is possible. In reality, you will end up in Dusseldorf or, more likely, on the job market looking for a new job. They had to cut many positions due to the DACH restructuring and I have the impression that this decline will just continue.
