Cool startup with a great mission and even better people
Arbeitsatmosphäre
maybe the best thing about neon is the way people interact with each other. I really enjoy working with everyone there. Sure sometimes there is pressure and things can be tense, but people typically remain calm and solution oriented.
Kommunikation
mostly very good. Sometimes new hires ore people leaving are announced a bit late, but generally there is an open communication where the whole company is informed of important developments and also how the business is doing. Furthermore, all employees have access to the data dashboards with various reports on specific features and also revenues.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Excellent, people are happy to help each other.
Work-Life-Balance
here I am rating neon as a Startup. Generally the workload at neon is high, expectations are high and it can be stressful and a bit disorganised. But those are all things one would expect from a startup.
What I wouldn't necessarily have expected from a Startup is that there is a good deal of mindfulness about people not working too much and taking their vacation times. I personally have two small children and worked at neon 80%. I very rarely had to work late at night, on weekends or on my day off with the kids.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Sometimes there is more pressure and frustrations can emerge. Generally, management cares about the employees and does a good job running the company.
Interessante Aufgaben
The upside of some of the chaos and stress is that you really get to shape the company. I found my tasks at neon super diverse and interesting.
Arbeitsbedingungen
the office isn't very fancy, I liked it there though and there is good flexibility with Home Office.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Making a lot of money is not the reason you should join neon. Generally I think the salaries are relatively low, but fair for a Startup.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There aren't many opportunities for formal training or further education. But for me what I learned on the job and the responsibilites I was given were really helpful in developing new skills. Probably more so than being paid to attend a CAS or MBA.
