Avoid American Airlines!
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The few nasty arrogant aggressive supervisors who have no idea how to treat people in a kind and supportive manner.
I cannot recommend working for American Airlines at Frankfurt Airport at all.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Start clamping down on the sadistic, nasty, aggressive & demotivating supervisors who think they are God.
Reply to your employees when they inform you how bad it is.
Stop supporting negative, nasty and colleague-unfriendly behaviour.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
There are some really nice colleagues but some supervisors/lead agents are aggressive arrogant bullies who make your life hell.
Kommunikation
Supervisors go behind your back to report you to management without giving you a chance to state your case.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Some colleagues are truly awesome but everything gets spoiled by the supervisor bullies.
Work-Life-Balance
Early shifts every day, you have to be flexible if there’s a delay or cancellation, which was fine for me.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Some supervisors/lead agents will make your life hell. No praise for turning up extra early to work - just a lecture in a rude tone about how you won’t be getting night shift rate by turning up early.
No “Thank you” for being motivated.
Interessante Aufgaben
I found the work itself interestingly challenging (pleasant) because I enjoy working with customers.
Gleichberechtigung
A supervisor is not a “regular” colleague - they are above you and woe betide anyone who doesn’t immediately acknowledge their “superiority. It’s a very, very sad state of affairs.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
I was aggressively screamed at by a supervisor, told I was in the wrong job, repeatedly told not to be so nice to customers (I have experience of working in customer service positions for over 40 years) - what a disgrace for an international airline.
NOTHING is done about the supervisors’ disgraceful behaviour.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The arrogance and aggression of some supervisors ruins everything.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Wages could be better. What good are flight perks if you can’t afford them?

Before I started at American Airlines, I was warned by an AA employee how bad it is at AA at Frankfurt Airport.
After I started at AA, a colleague there advised me to get out as soon as I could - he also warned me how bad the company was.
