The kind of body-leasing you don't want an employer for
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
- colleagues
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
- micromanagement
Verbesserungsvorschläge
- listen to your employees and know their actual market value
- trust your team and department leads
- stop micromanaging
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Toss of a coin. The project roulette can randomly rip people out of projects or assign them to new ones, independent of team fit or experience. Roles are not always clearly communicated. This can lead to tense working situations and immense frustration even amongst team and department leads.
Kommunikation
There are attempts to communicate. Messages about the same topic differ significantly depending on the recipient.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
It feels like the administration and the consultants are separate branches. Inside them co-operation between colleagues is extremely well. The most frequent interaction between them, however, are assignments from the former to the latter.
Work-Life-Balance
It's worse than in other companies in the same market segment, i.e. you might travel more. You might either crumble under the workload or be bored. It's as predictable as a coin toss.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Decisions are centralised. Talk is cheap here, don't expect to get what you're promised. Oftentimes decisions feel like superiors don't know about the strengths, weaknesses or wishes of their employees. Micromanagement is a real issue.
Interessante Aufgaben
You might work on a customer project you find interesting or uninteresting. You might work on something no one will ever use. You might sit on your hands for several months. The administration decides.
Gleichberechtigung
You better speak German, or you'll have a hard time to get a project.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Most older new hires for consultancy leave rather quickly. The majority of the employees are junior.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Travel by train is encouraged, but sometimes flying is more feasible. It's a general issue of consulting.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Way below what you can get elsewhere in the sector for less and easier work.
Image
Was good, but is declining.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Training is random. The lack of hierarchy and micromanagement from the top make lead positions meaningless.
