What to work on next?
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
There are many startups out there, but many lack a great idea. Building Radar has a very unique business idea which is very motivating as many things have to be explored.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
In Munich the war for talents is big. I would like to see more efforts to find passionated and ambitious colleagues that help us progress even faster.
Kommunikation
I don’t know how communication could be any more transparent. Even interns can participate in the bi-weekly All-hands meeting where the managing directors present the newest sales numbers. We run also run a slack channel that allows you to post questions anonymously (instantly, without moderation). I also can’t personally recall a situation where I felt out of the loop.
Work-Life-Balance
There is no pushy supervisor that forces you to do extra hours. It’s up to you, how much time you want to spend on top of your 40h/week. Taking days off is also not a problem. For me, no application for leave has ever been refused.
Interessante Aufgaben
This is probably one of the biggest arguments working for Building Radar. The idea’s originality comes with so many interesting tasks and challenges. Even if you have only little interest/passion for your job, it’s simply impossible to find the challenges not interesting and exciting.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The office is rather functional than fancy. However, one has to appreciate the premium office equipment. Height-adjustable tables and premium office chairs from Vitra are so much better compared to the cheap equipment you will find in many other startups. Most importantly we have a very decent kicker. Walk backwards, if you see one of the founders close-by. He won’t let you go back to your work before you have not shed tears from losing every single game (According to rumors, he is watching tutorials on the weekends. Not fair)
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Just recently there was an announcement, that we are starting planting trees whenever a big customer closes a deal with our data. Instead of choosing the cheapest option for a tree certificate, they chose the most sustainable and long-term solution to make this effort more than a stupid PR-stunt. Super cool! I also appreciate that we are having fair trade startup hoodies printed locally and provide reusable take-away bowls. Given that a startup has to always look out for potentials to save money, the workplace is already doing a good sustainability job.
