Flexible Working Hours, Remote Work, Interesting Tasks
- Poor Salaries
- Managers do not know where their employees strengths are and come up with generic areas of work where one could be suited.
- People getting fired on the basis of no apparent reason
- No idea how to improve their product since the area of impact is so limited so they focus on short term gains only
- Make better people managers
- Think of Long Term Goals
Actual remote setup and good atmosphere, employees are trusted, I worked very productive and still had fun with colleagues and leads from different teams. After hard times in 2023 the motivation is high and before I left I noticed that Compado is working on new technology projects. In general I experienced Compado as an innovative company that invested boldly as well
I guess nobody liked the layoffs in 2023 but I dont if this was foreseeable or could have been solved differently. Markets have changed a lot in the past years with all the uncertainty, still it came somehow out of the blue for most employees I guess.
I read posts about Compado critizising they focus on profits. Profitablity is a focus. Obviously, this is an important one to be able to run a company in the long run and therefore also secure peoples jobs, especially in these times. So probably not every employee has a basic understanding of business and numbers, maybe try communicate the connection between profits and jobs more clearly but also make transparent what every team can do in order to contribute as not everyone has a direct influence on profits.
Working atmosphere was very good compared to my previous jobs. Although economic times are tough for many companies, employees were trusted and not pressured or micromanaged.
Super great, actually the only company that I know that is REALLY 100% remote (whereas most companies advertise and still want you to come to the office regularily)
I decided to move on after a few years, because at some point I had the feeling that I cannot learn much more in this company. Obviously, not everyone wants to or can become a lead either, no company can have only leads :)
I had a good salary also had a raise when I took over additional tasks and responsibilities after a year. I didnt talk much wich colleagues about salaries but from what I have heard, everyone seems to be quite satisfied. No matter which company you work for, you can always find another company that pays a little more salary or bonus. For me its an important part but there are also other things to consider like the remote setup, trust and freedom to schedule your work independantly, team atmosphere etc.
Kind of a bad mood among some employees/teams due to layoffs in 2023 what i can totally understand. But I also experienced (and was very impressed by that) very motivated colleagues with the right drive to move on and excel
I think the people working at Compado are in their twenties, thirties and fourties but I am not relaly sure about that. Several people that started working with the companie when it was founded are still there.
Probably depends on the team you are in, I had a good lead and also worked with other team leads and senior leaders. From my experience people (employees and leads) are experts in their fields and mostly very nice and helpful
Communication was always good within my team and with team members from other teams that I was usually working with. Remote setup though brings challenges in terms of socialising and personal communication.
Never experienced any discrimination for age, nationality, sexual orientation, etc. in Compado you can find people from around the world
Probably also depends on the team. I was working with the worlds most known consumer brands and learned a lot during my time at Compado.
working remotely.
being fired despite having good feedback. having a micromanaging superior create a tense and uncomfortable working atmosphere, while being fully and unconditionally backed by the management.
low pay
boring, unscalable product.
management being focused on short term profits.
hold yourself accountable to the feedback you give employees. don't tolerate micromanaging and borderline bullying by your mid managers.
there is a reason why compado is known amongst berlin based labour lawyers.
the only good thing is the opportunity to work remotely. apart from that i experienced micromanagement and borderline bullying by my superior
they are a b2b company, so they don't have much of a public reputation.
3 stars for the fact that you can actually and almost unconditionally work remotely.
the company isn't well known, so careerwise, it won't stick out on your CV.
pay was definitely below average. they try to distract from it by endlessly emphasising the remote work opportunities, when logically, the lack of a massive office, should save money, which then could be used to pay people fairly.
i was not aware of any initiatives in that regard.
my colleagues were mostly friendly, but when i asked some to create a betriebsrat (employee council) to have better protection against illegitimate termination, none of them were willing to join, basically acting against their own best interest. who knows, maybe they feared possible consequences?
there weren't any elderly colleagues, which either means that they don't hire older people or that older people aren't interested in working for them.
terrible. i can only speak about my own experience with my superior, but it was very difficult to borderline impossible to work with someone, who took any sort of feedback or suggestion as a personal attack. at some point instead of voicing ideas to improve something or do something differently, you just bite your tongue and walk on eggshells, because you would anticipate it to not be received well. also, their almost obsessive need to impress top management was very off putting and made life difficult for me as every piece of work i produced was unnecessarily double and triple checked. in the end, at least in my view, i was terminated not for my performance but because of personal issues caused by my superior and this was fully backed by management.
they provide decent equipment to work remotely.
their entire feedback system is an intransparent charade. it is totally inconsistent and non-binding. despite me receiving good feedback in my last feedback conversation, i ended up being fired weeks later.
no. it is a boring, unscalable product.
Trust in the employees and the level of the people working there. I had the experience, everybody was super nice and competent...
I have to say you also see low performers leaving quite quickly or that rather probation periods are often not prolonged...
not much to say here
Seeing each other could be a bit more often
Nice atmosphere
read other reviews, mainly from former colleagues where I need to disagree on a lot of points
No extra hours needed
You need to proactively ask for conferences/courses (beside language) but never saw sth got denied
It is still a start-up but fair payment
Carbon positive
Very nice group of people, not only in my team
nothing negative to say here
If you like to be micromanged, this is not the place... You get a lot of trust in advance and need to manage your on taks
you get a work from home set-up
Due to the fully remote set-up, here and there some details fall of the table
everybody treated the same
yes, also mainly up to yourself what you make out of it
The flexibility to work remote and decent colleagues to work with.
The bad communication among certain teams, poor leadership skills of some leaders, and the lack of clear objectives can be some blockers to work there.
Review the quality of the leadership. Some leaders simply don't have the soft skills and empathy to manage a team.
Nice work colleages overall, most of them with good behaviour and willing to help, but really depends on the team you are on.
There is an overall good image of working remote combined with lifestyle. The product itself can be highly improved.
Good to have flexible work hours and work from any country, although not asynchronous work is possible for everybody, as they sell.
Didn't hear this word during the time I was working there.
A bit below the average in Germany, but decent
In general decent colleages to work with and learn.
Some leaders very worried about performance only, with lack of patience and empathy with the team, not willing to listen to others opinions.
General communication was good, although leadership communication was mediocre and confusing.
Depends on the project and team. Overall good flow of tasks but with a lack of inspirational focus.
Das Vertrauen gegenüber der Mitarbeiter egal welche Position. Das virtuelle zusammenhalten und die Kommunikation in der ersten vollkommen Remote anbietenden Arbeitgebern.
Great colleagues, flexible working hours, good experience with HR, interesting projects
they focus more on constant Innovation than keeping hard working colleagues, not many remote work benefits compared to other (and even smaller) companies, payment could be a lot better
Try to give your existing employees a voice, show some appreciation for what they do (verbally but also monetary), ask them what they WANT to work on so you won’t lose so many great talents
Atmosphere for my team was amazing at the start but there was a restructuring and after that, the atmosphere was rather hierarchical and cold
Flexible working hours and remote working policy
Try to set more focus on employees‘ wishes and aspirations, not only for new employees but also for existing ones
Definitely below German market standard and not much room for negotiation
Environmental engagement top, but a bit pretentious when it comes to social issues like lgbtq+ and racial issues (a LinkedIn post during pride month doesn’t do much. Maybe consider donating)
Depends on the team you’re in.
There aren’t many older colleagues
Leaders care more about their personal performance and reputation than team members‘ growth and satisfaction.
Decisions regarding my role were made without consulting me. New team leader didn’t care (or even ask) about the past work and achievement of the team.
The management is able to self reflect and open to improve
Improvement on communication is probably a major point
It is a non hierarchically communication across the company. There is a big interest in learning and exploring.
Compado is a niche player and pretty operational as well B2B.
remote / flex work allows a fair work - life - balance
Compado is organising trainings and events to look into specific topics. As well there are options to train oneself and receive support for that.
The salaries are fair and market oriented
The tone of voice is friendly, colleagues are jumping in, explaining and supporting each other. The onboarding which I received was the best I had in all my jobs.
As this is a startup, the managers are pretty into the details and operational work as well which ultimately makes me trust them. However this can lead sometimes to very detailed discussion - ultimately everybody is learning from that. As pointed out before, communication is not always best organised, but this is normal in a fast paced environment.
Being a start up the communication is not always best organised, however very transparent when being asked.
There is a lot to learn and a delicate product, but as well the room to contribute.
*Salary being paid on time
*Good for a start to learn and go somewhere else
*Company product: questionable ranking sites
*If you want to get any kind of promotion with some minor salary increase you need to circle around the main Founder and his buddy (best is when you tell off on your coworkers, make reports of what other people say and unconditionally praise the company)
*Low salary (and definitely lower than offered on the market)
*No real HR support. HR is for the company but not for the employees attitude
*Big fluctuation
*Expected to work on the weekends when something breaks down
If you want to improve your image, please start improving internally instead of asking your own employees to write good reviews on Glassdoor, Kununu and Google.
The remote working setup is working very well, all stakeholders are always up-to-date thanks to open communication. I have always experienced a very friendly approach.
Thanks to remote working setup it is very flexible.
There are many virtual events and chances to connect with the colleagues, the company is doing a great job in this matter!
The age average is lower in general
I have only experienced a riendly and respectful approach.
Even though we are not sharing one office, there are no issues with communication. Exchange via chat or calls works fine.
So verdient kununu Geld.
