Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The product that is streamed. From an inside perspective, I can only say I am happy I left DAZN.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

So many points, the way they handle communication, the employees, no benefits, no consideration, high expectations from them regarding the work that needs to be done, but does not match what an employer needs to do to retain good workforce or even a reward or proper remuneration. The office location, the office itself, lack of transparency, the way other employees handle other employees, the way HR handles issues, the way management does not see mistakes being done or try to correct them.
Have to mention that it is not a friendly employer, they do not even have a company doctor.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Everything! Literally re-think all when it comes to employees treatment, benefits, recognition, encouragement etc.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

People are so unhappy at DAZN that it rubs on you. You can feel the frustration of not getting forward. It does not matter that they say they are a young and flexible company, they are not, there is a high hierarchy, which puts you "back into your place" every chance they get. They are not flexible at all.

Kommunikation

Super un-transparent, decisions are made top-to-bottom, they do not listen to feedback of employees (no matter what they are writing here as a feedback).

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Some colleagues are super kind and nice, others not so much due to the pressure and frustration of being always put down by others or by management. Some people from certain departments, I would suggest to be careful with, as they not only will be fake with you but throw you under the bus when the change represents itself.

Work-Life-Balance

The company does not care about your personal life (this has been made clear for me many times), you should do your work, the work of others, do things with your own initiative (but only what is expected and approved by management), and always be reachable and ready to work, even though extra hours are not talked about, not paid for and not considered.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

There is a handful of people that actually are allowed to do something at the company regarding decisions. If your manager is not that person, you are in bad luck. Good to note that there are other people that act as they are your manager even though they have nothing to do with you or your work (they might not even know what you do), but they will act like they do.

Interessante Aufgaben

Well, it depends. Due to corona the interesting tasks have been decreased. And I would like to note that for the company, it does not matter if you do not find the task interesting, good or even feel comfortable with it, you will still have to do it.

Gleichberechtigung

There are some women there, and a lot more men, but people seem to generally not differentiate.
With me though, management constantly put me down, had different expectations of me, due to my sexuality, also they did not give me the respect I had deserved for doing my job and was constantly pushed down.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Sure, was ok. There are not that many old colleagues, and the reasons are that because people generally leave after a few years (when they realise how bad it all is), and because some of the people that are older in age are generally OK.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Horrible! It is a container building, where the floor moves when you walk (you can literally know if somebody is walking on the floor above you). There is no AC or good ventilation system, so in summer you basically get boiled inside of the building. Not to mention the huge spiders everywhere!
There is no food as a benefit or even as options around the office, the company does not care about the fact that employees struggle with that. They buy the cheapest option of drinks (hey, well at least they give us water right?!). As mentioned, you have to always be reachable and ready to work. Also, you cannot have your own opinion. If you have an opinion that is different than to the management team, you are pressured to change it.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Oh, horrible. They have a big Nespresso machine (the coffee is ok), but the garbage goes all to the same place in the end, there is no garbage division. The company does not do volunteer work, has no CSR standards.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

You are always under paid, they try to sell to you that you will get a raise after 6 months or 1 year, that this is the starting salary, but it is not true! Do not fall for this. As mentioned, no benefits whatsoever. The office is very far away from Munich, and you can only get to it with public transport by bus, and the company does not even pay the ticket or a rate of it. During Corona, they did not give any additional benefits for employees.

Image to the outside is great. But on the inside, either you are trying to get a new job within to see if things get better, or you are trying to leave the company.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

They do not give you any chances whatsoever. If you want to do it, it is on your own time. Does not matter the job you do, they do not say any kind works of encouragement, or thank you. The only recognition you get is when you do something not well, this is quickly escalated so they can put you back into your place (and there are some people that enjoy doing this to others). In the end, they just want you to do what you are told and that is it, not grow or improve.

In terms of your review, you raise a lot of points and it's clear you weren't happy at DAZN. But the company you describe isn't one we recognise - we've spent the last year with a big focus on DEI (both internally and externally), we've announced new CSR partnerships with Common Goal and PLAN International, we've introduced new wellbeing benefits and content for all employees, and we use Peakon, our employee listening tool, to get feedback in and make changes to improve our workplace all the time. And that's just a few of the points you cover - we're progressive and are improving all the time.
