Good Work/Life balance and a few other things, sadly poor Organizational politics and distrust between people
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Fairly good work-life balance, some good customer base, easy accessibility via public transportation
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Bureaucracy, lack of transparency, poor communication practices, bad politics
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Probably will have to start fresh with new management
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Working conditions are backward and old fashioned. Org. is quite bureaucratic, and policies are often inconsistent, with employees not trusting each other
Kommunikation
Secretive and not much transparency about the company plans or the actual situation when it comes to personal politics.
Employees do not speak up their mind during meetings out of mistrust. Many of the mid level managers are decidedly silent out of fear or distrust. Most of the communications happen via emails in a formal way.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Colleagues do not trust each other and are constantly plotting or scheming against each other. There is minimal trust, despite spending thousands of euros each year on management workshops on "team building". People playing favorites are usually the norm
Work-Life-Balance
Occasional demands on presence during the weekends, but otherwise flexible working hours are offered.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Often very hierarchical, do not offer much growth opportunities and often fails to motivate or inspire. As a plus, managers are usually approachable.
Interessante Aufgaben
Retail industry in general is interesting and offers some potential, also emnos' customers include some of the well known retailers.
Gleichberechtigung
Usually good/OK
Arbeitsbedingungen
No choice on the computer hardware, office rooms are often noisy and employees are forced to do teleconference using cheap headsets. Meeting rooms often lacked enough space or sunlight.
On the other hand, easy accessibility to nearby parks/Oktoberfest is indeed a plus
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Salary has a huge bonus component (20%) - with most making between 10-13%, but how this is decided is usually a mystery.
On the +ve side, LP group has a standard policy on health insurance, social contributions etc. Also there is a Canteen and company provides a Metro ticket
Image
Even those who are there for many years do not have confidence in company's ability to recover and management do not seem to care. Though emnos is indirectly a subsidiary of Amex, in practice Amex has little impact, interest or influence on emnos and viceversa
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Training budgets are entirely at the discretion of line managers. No known and consistent HR policies on promotion criteria. Mid level managers who are longer in the company get to promote their favorites regardless of the performance.
As a plus, some internal training programs are offered from time to time
