Overall a healthy work-life balance is encouraged. Unfortunately, the current policy against remote work outside of Germany means that employees who wish to spend more time with loved ones in other countries are encouraged to build up overtime in addition to leave, which means that Fairtrade is out-of-step with fellow employers of choice in this regard.

this varies widely by team. I enjoy an open and respectful working relationship with my direct line manager, but this is not the case across all departments.

one enjoys a good degree of control over one's tasks, however this varies by team. The evolution of the regulatory context within which Fairtrade operates means that there is also an 'all-hands-on-deck' attitude, therefore maintaining an interest in a wide range of tasks is key.

the ventilation, temperature control, and layout and 'decoration' of the offices could be improved.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
salaries are paid on time and the social benefits are generous, however salaries are less than the market average in my field
Karriere/Weiterbildung
the company has a generous policy to further education relative to its means. Objectively, the amount budgeted for further education is a smaller sum which does not easily facilitate participation in high-quality courses etc.
