If you expect your employees to work extra hours on a regular basis, the least thing you can do is create a working environment where they feel safe and comfortable. Get a microwave, better chairs, make sure there is enough distance between them etc. While the management board doesn't seem to be very scared of the health effects of the Corona virus, some employees are (were). It's not all about looks and the outward appearance...

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Management expects you to be all in but doesn't give back - Overtime work happens on a regular basis, but nothing is done to make employees feel safe and appreciated. During the corona peak we were allowed to work remotely for around 3 weeks, but then they decided 'it wasn't working' and everyone had to come back to the office where one floor was cramped while the other one was almost empty. They could easily have changed that but didn't seem to put much emphasis on the well-being of their employees. The turnover of staff is extremely high, which means it's almost impossible for any kind of team spirit to evolve. Furthermore and following up on the last rating, women make up a very small percentage of the staff.

Kommunikation

I always found communication to be a very difficult topic at Gewers Pudewill. Very often things are expected without being said or only last minute. Also, they don't seem to be very keen on feedback talks which makes everything unnecessarily harder.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

As mentioned before, the fluctuation rate is very high in this company and except for the Christmas party there aren't any events initiated by the company with the objective of getting together as a team to get to know each other. Nevertheless, people go out lunching or occasionally have a 'Feierabendbier' together.

Work-Life-Balance

I especially wouldn't recommend this company to people with young children due to the lack of flexibility when it comes to working times or cases of emergency. Some employees feel urged to regularly work night shifts and seem chronically fatigued. In addition, you should be prepared to be contacted outside regular working hours.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Many employees don't feel appreciated by the management board. They don't seem to care whether you stay or leave. If you don't like what they offer, you know where to find the door.

There are no women in leading positions. Then again, it seems like certain tasks should be executed by women only...

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office as well as its location are nice and easy to reach via public transport. However, they do not want you to have lunch in the office, and as they do not want to get a microwave (too ugly for such a fancy office), you need to go to a restaurant or eat your self-cooked food somewhere on a bench. Cold food combined with cold weather makes for a particularly unpleasant experience. As mentioned before, they didn't take any steps to make the workspace safer during these turbulent times except for providing disinfectant.
