Klassische Fragen über die Personalität.
After I applied I have been contacted from an Executive Assistant saying that my profile was very interesting and asking what my salary expectations were. Please note: the position was advertised as part time without even mentioning for how many hours weekly. I asked for more info and replied with the figure I had in mind. Please note: my salary expectation was not high and the description mentioned "competitive salary" (why are they asking you for your salary expectations if they have a range in mind? After all, they could just tell that range and you could self-select out if it didn’t work for you. That would make a lot more sense).
After that, I received an email saying that " there has been another candidates who matched our job requirements even better." (after NO interview??? Guess what? The other candidate had lower expectation apparently). Dear Twago, this is not the way of selecting people. You should judge people by their expertise and not by their salary expectation. You should give them a chance at least for an interview, because that's the right place for a potential salary negotiation.

Based on the highly unprofessional and untrustworthy behavior I experienced during my application process, I would suggest that job candidates looking at this Berlin start-up look elsewhere to invest their time and talent.
My dealings with Twago were over a period of approximately three weeks, during which time I interviewed with three senior members of the team, completed a test project, and was consequently offered the role.
My first interview was with a senior manger, and, having gone very positively, I was immediately invited to attend a second interview and asked to complete a test project (unpaid, during my own time).
During the second round of interviews, I met (separately) with the two most senior members of the company. The first, and younger, was open and friendly. The second (who ironically presents himself as a master communicator on his personal blog) very seldom made direct eye contact, and compulsively rolled my curriculum vitae between his hands throughout the entire interview.
Regardless, I received very positive feedback on my test project and was consequently offered the role. After asking whether an approximate 6% increase in salary was possible, I was told that the authorizing member of staff was on holiday and as such they were unable to confirm my request that day. But, that they would get back to me as soon as they had an answer.
After waiting one week for a response, I made a follow-up call to my initial interviewer. After making an awkward excuse about planning to call me herself that very afternoon, she then proceeded to tell me that Twago had decided I was "too senior" for the role, and that (although they had already formally offered me the position) they had actually spent the week looking for alternative candidates.
I have never experienced such unprofessional dealings with a potential employer. They did not even have the decency to inform me of this decision themselves. And, regardless of whether the excuse about my suitability for the role was authentic or not, they still chose to waste my time by asking me to complete a test project, and kept me waiting for a week with no answer.
Moral of the story? Don't bother wasting your time with Twago. Berlin loft? Big deal. Give me honesty and integrity over that any day!
What suggestions would you make to improve our existing website, blog and CRM?
So verdient kununu Geld.
