I was interviewed a first time by a External HR manager and then by the Internal HR Recruiter. So, practically I did twice the same interview. I had the unpleasant impression that the HR Manager wanted to check if the External HR manager did a good job with me. I might be wrong, of course but certainly communication with the candidates during the interview process could be a lot improved. Also, I found the interview with the External HR manager more efficiently structured, than the one with the internal one.
Finally, I also think that after 2 conversations there should also be a short call with feedback and not just a meaningless standard rejection email. Too bad, the first impression with the external recruiter was really good!
