The company gave me a problem they had and I was required to provide them with a solution. They essentially obtained a free consultation from several applicant experts. This is not the only thing that was unfair, the amount of time spent preparing the content and the presentation wasn't a few hours but a few days; this was time that could have been spend looking for a position or doing interviews. In the end, they obtained many ideas on how to solve their problem evidenced by the numerous notes they were taking and the presenter ends with nothing after having spent days doing a task an employee should do.
