The work is very interesting and the colleagues
Due to the lack of processes, clear responsibilities and an almost anarchic interpretation of "flat hierarchies" (i.e. no one in the companys management seems to be willing or allowed to take a leading role) there is a blatant lack of strategy and planning. This creates an atmosphere of constant stress where everything needs to be done immediately and priorities change constantly. I think there has not been a single week without someone telling me I needed to stop doing what was agreed beforehand and switch to something else.
There are some people who handle this situation by just doing what they are told, without any personal initiative. And there are people who handle it by feeling responsible for everything - thereby interfering with the work of colleagues even more. Both types make the work climate toxic.
Everyone I tell about my job thinks it's cool. I feel the comany has a very good image with customers also.
I was never pressured to stay longer or work on weekends, and the workload is manageable, albeit sometimes heavy. There are people who sometimes work on weekends or in the night, but I always felt that was their personal initiative and not requested or expected.
Quite OK. As in almost every company there are cliques, and it can be a bit hard to get in. I have never experienced unfair or aggressive behaviour from colleagues.
Management is terrible. They seem not to have any plan or vision for the company, there is absolutely no planning of employee workload and priorities change constantly, sometimes daily. It is completely unclear who is responsible or accountable for what, creating an environment of constant insecurity and stress. I give two stars anyway, because they are nice people on a personal level, and they also seem to care to create a good environment - it just doesn't work out.
The office is beautiful and would be really nice if there were fewer people - but now it's just overcrowded: Too loud, not enough bathrooms and you need some luck to find a free place in the kitchen at lunchtime.
Relevant information is not kept secret, but you actively need to ask. If you don't ask you will not even know what the people in your office are working on. Information about company goals and strategy, product roadmaps or new customers and projects is distributed late or not at all.
I think that pay is very fair.
I find work very interesting for the most part.
People were openly arguing regularly particularly across departments and were often in a bad mood.
Company works with Big Data movement data which has a negative image (surveillance etc.). They are privacy-aware though and the image in society is worse than it should be
Not too much pressure, enough free time and fair over-time compensation rules.
No efforts were made in that regard to my knowledge
Education was partly paid for but not a lot of room to grow due to the small company size.
Was very high. Great colleagues that support each other.
In my opinion the management was quite unexperienced. Trying hard but not always successful, lacking in leadership and knowledge of how to scale a company. Hierarchies and communication structures were often ignored.
Home-office rules were not super flexible but available. Over-time compensation is present. Nice setup and good hardware, cool office space.
I experienced some communication behind employees backs. No clear communication structure. Decision-making process not always clear.
Pay was good for the size of the company and the space it's in
No efforts to advance it, but nothing that directly hinders it either. No woman in management or head-of positions though
It's a unique field, with interesting tasks in Big Data.
Because of the lack of project management it felt like a lot of people are burned out on a 3-month routine. I guess because the deadline are always hold so tight, and nobody manages the timeline - this could be avoided in my opinion.
There was a big fluctuation, where a lot of good people have gone.
In my opinion Invenium says it is very transparent with a flat hierarchy, but for me it does not feel like this.
