The company should prioritize making the application process more engaging and respectful for candidates who invest time and effort in applying for a position. Unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing and felt unprofessional. After completing the initial application and providing all required details, including a CV, I received a generic email asking me to fill out an additional, detailed form with information already included in my CV. Despite dedicating extra time to this step, I was then sent another automated email with a link to complete algorithmic tests, which demanded even more time.
After completing the tests, I was informed that feedback would be provided within a week. However, there was no response until I followed up, only to be told that due to the high volume of applications, I would need to wait another week. After two weeks, I finally received another generic email stating that I was not accepted. There was no feedback on why I was not selected or what I could improve as a developer. Instead, I received a suggestion from HR to include a motivation letter next time, even though this was marked as optional during the application process.
This entire process was frustrating and disorganized, lacking transparency and respect for the candidate's time and effort. It was, by far, the most unprofessional application experience I have encountered.
The inexperienced recruiter talked in the first virtual interview (HR only) around 15 minutes about hobbies that have nothing to do with the job. The questions asked afterwards checked if you read their web page. The recruiter cannot tell the candidates much about the position, the technologies used or the team. They do not forward the information you give them to the line manager until late in the process, after the candidates have already invested resources.
In my case, we could have realized we are not the best match during a short chat on the phone or after the first email exchanged, but I had to be dragged through extra unnecessary steps. My recommendation is to shorten the interviewing process and respect your candidates' time. Furthermore, keep it efficient and professional: do not spend so much time discussing hobbies and have someone convince the candidates to choose your company over your competitors.
keine!
Was steckt hinter der Person? Was sind deine Hobbies?

So verdient kununu Geld.
