Promoting employees to higher positions does not automatically make them good team leads. The company should offer more leadership training for the people in higher position and for the teams within. Communication should be improved to reduce unnecessary stress. Trust and empathy should be encouraged in the company so that employees are not afraid to express their opinions.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

A toxic work environment at its finest. No real stability or structure. People are afraid to speak their mind as it will be used against them or lead to termination. Boundaries are seen as unwillingness/no motivation to work. Communication is basically non-existent, leading to a lot of frustration and unnecessary stress. People in higher positions often have no leadership training, which leads to micromanagement, lack of conflict resolution skills, lack of understanding of the different needs of individual team members and poor communication skills.

Kommunikation

Last minute changes are not discussed with all parties involved, leading to stress and frustration. This is partly due to many processes not being in place or not working effectively, which is ultimately normalized by saying that's just how start-ups work. Also, some departments don't respect the capabilities of other teams, which leads to unrealistic expectations and demands. Many unnecessary meetings for "alignment" that have not led to a solution but only to more questions.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Depending on the team its better or worse. Definitely a lot of talks behind peoples back.

Work-Life-Balance

There is no such thing as a work-life balance. Officially, there are core working hours from 10 am to 5 pm. In reality, you are expected to work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., even longer if launches are planned. The company tries to compensate for this with after-work drinks or the gym in the office, but this is not an adequate solution to the high workload and the prioritization of long working hours.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

My team leader was not able to provide a clear structure or guidance. Often things were not discussed with all team members or communicated clearly enough. A lot of micromanagement as communication skills were poor. Lack of self-awareness which led to things being taken to a personal level. Lots of personal blaming when things didn't go as planned but didn't make any effort to find a solution.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There are a lot of young people working there, so there aren't many older colleagues.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

In theory, a budget has been set aside for development. Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that this budget can be used due to the high workload and the lack of a development plan.
