Good place to work, but there is still room for improvement

Good atmosphere, good colleagues and possibility to work with different department and learn a lot about the business.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Overall, Zumtobel is a great place to work but I would try to improve a few things:
- Communication: Clear communication from top to bottom. It's needed to set an strategy at board level, create an action plan and clearly communicate to the employees. On my opinion, I feel sometimes lack of direction and leadership.
- 360 employee review: It is not enough for an employee evaluation to ask just to his/her direct boss. Most of the times he has not all of the information required. I would do in a 360 degrees (colleagues from the same department, different department, direct boss, stakeholders from his/her projects, etc.). Zumtobel could get more information about the employees, identifying lack of skills and eliminate some bias in the evaluations.
- Employee engagement: I would start to ask to the employees what they are looking for in the company. With one yearly meeting for my talk is not enough to know the people. That could reduce rotation.
- Clear strategy: There are project which have started 3 or 4 times but never end. That drives to frustration when an employee is working hard in a concept that will never get fulfilled because budget cuts, employee rotation, etc.

The communication top to down is not the best one. That drives to frustration when you realize that you've been working in something which is not needed anymore, or there are decisions hidden till the last minute, so you cannot react properly.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
I cannot complain about my colleagues. Great ones, in IT and also in Business. In all projects I worked in we all were pushing in the same direction and some colleagues have become fiends.
Work-Life-Balance
Good one for me. No problem in doing home-office or flexi time.

Sometimes Team Leads are in that position because there was some department restructuration without the skills needed for that position

The projects I had were quite cool, the problem is that is hard to move forward with them due restrictions, budget cuts and rotation.
