The Slow Decay of Ginetta: A Masterclass in Mismanagement
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
- Ginetta has lost its appeal.
- They are slowly but surely heading towards bankruptcy.
- All the good people have left.
- Most of the clients I enjoyed working with reached out to me after I left.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
At first glance, it seems like a good place to start, but after a few months, cracks begin to show in the company's and founder's golden facade. Here's a list of events that occurred during my time there and some points about life at Ginetta:
- The founder invested a large sum of money into a peer project aimed at creating a strategy unit. This strategy unit brought in almost no new projects. They convinced clients to invest over and over again in ridiculous, off-the-shelf solutions.
- Due to poorly planned budget forecasts, 10 people were let go—some hadn't even started working yet.
- The founder, along with the director of the strategy unit, created a "hit list" of people to fire.
- Your salary and the behavior of high-profile managers towards you depended on how much you participated in events and how often you worked overtime.
- We wasted countless hours of our clients' budgets on mediocre solutions.
- The client partner units would promise outrageous things to clients, leaving designers and project managers to work overtime to deliver.
- Mobbing was widespread, cronyism was rampant, and gaslighting was a common tactic.
- The founder had strange beliefs and looked up to odd role models, including fictional characters and Elon Musk. Also huge lack of empathy. He would place his own believes above the health of the employees. Also a poor invester, don't bet your life or career on this place.
- Weird investment were made like renting useless expensive new floor in during covid, trying to open new locations...
Underneath the processes and false pretenses, Ginetta transformed from an agency into a factory for off-the-shelf solutions. If you're a client, please think twice about where you're investing your money. If you were an employee there, good for you! If you're still there, it's time to start looking elsewhere. It's better almost everywhere else, I can assure you.
