Career plan exists but often no capacity or budget to follow the plan.
Below industry average
The teams have a very good vibe within their departments
Lack of leadership from the very top
Never gets bored. Sometimes less is more though.
- Der Recruiting / Bewerbungsprozess sowie die HR-Betreuung
- Leere versprechen
- Kein richtiges Onboarding
Veraltetes, muffiges Büro an schlechter Lage.
Nothing honestly, If you read the other reviews, and I'm not talking about the 5 star reviews that are clearly fake ( they actively request employees to give good reviews to boost company image, i know that because they also asked me)
Management ignores the work and life balance needs of employees, making them work overtime and on weekends, and demanding unrealistic deadlines without allowing overtime pay.
Employees are often underpaid, with fake and nonexistent bonuses used to lure people in.
The company's work environment can be detrimental to mental health, and burnouts are a common occurrence.
Project scopes are poorly defined, and there is no grasp of the concept of quality versus quantity, time, and resources.
Underdeveloped and lacks potential compared to other companies in the same industry.
Promotions are impossible to obtain, unrealistic expectations are given to employees regularly.
Aggression and hostile behavior are common in both verbal and written communication among team members, including managers who often yell and make false accusations.
There is a clear divide between the buddies group of management and everyone else.
Management is lacking in organization, qualifications, experience, and empathy. They exhibit favoritism, micromanage employees, and bully them if they do not comply with their demands.
They disagree with inputs from employees without any argument, regardless of expertise.
Here are some suggestions:
Conduct regular training and workshops for all employees, especially managers, on topics like communication, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.
Create a system for reporting incidents of discrimination, or other toxic behavior, and ensure that all reports are taken seriously and addressed promptly.
Evaluate the financial health of the company and create a realistic budget that aligns with the company's current financial situation and accounts for SALARIES, since they keep missing payments, and not just for salaries.
Encourage transparency and open communication between all levels of employees, including management and staff.
Create opportunities for career development that are based on merit, rather than just seniority or favoritism.
Consider bringing in an external HR specialist to assess the workplace and provide recommendations for improvement, since HR at Nomoko is a joke.
In 2 words: Extremely toxic.
I will quote another review here that i think was on point " They want to portray a young/cool/fresh/modern image but have no intention of living this on the inside as well. They do not care about their employees, and fire them at will, have generally no financial planning and let their employees suffer the consequences"
Depends where you land, if you land on a group that likes the "family" concept, and cares more about taking around nonsense, you might end up actually enjoying it, you do what you want, stay home most of the time doing your own stuff, and not really care much for anything. If you end up in the other end of the spectrum, you will became overworked, do a lot of overtime, and most likely burnout after a while.
Some are nice, but they end up leaving after 2 or 3 months, the only people that stay in the job are the bad co-workers that enjoy drama and use shady tactics to keep themselves on top.
C E O and C F O are completely clueless of the company status, both financially and structurally wise. Pointing out problems is impossible, they are unreachable, and even if you are able to secure a chat with them, they will most likely ignore you, even though they will pretend to listen to your concerns.
Dirty old office, old equipment, sometimes you dont even have the right equipment, they will actively make you do shores around the office, like cleaning, re arranging stuff around the office, i even heard people stating they had to do the entire office moving when they changed office.
Regarding work it self, it's chaotic, management has no clue about the product specifications, stressful, with aggressive and toxic behavior.
Communication? Nomoko doesn't know what that means. Coming from a honest Business background where I learned to be honest and to be clear, it's mind blowing to me how they are able to convince people to invest, and keep investing. Most likely they have a professional scam approach when dealing with investors, over promising, and luring them in with buzzwords
If we look at internal communication it's a complete disaster, both from management, and C E O and C F O, they even seem to try the same approach they do with investors, but sadly for them most employees see it right away and leave.
Favoritism is a real problem at Nomoko, and that should be clear by all reviews you can see here.
nothing. The disrespect is in this company is real
all of the above.
- Stressfull hireing process, forcing you to quit your existing job before 'beeing able to offer you something'
- No money to pay their employees on time
- hiring people on 'dead' projects
- firing people while they are still in probation
- overly complicated processes and documentation
- bad company spirit
- try to trick people into thinking they care by buying 'pizza lunches' every 2 weeks. So generous. Hope it doesnt kill the budget for salaries.
- Stop behaving like a faceless american startup and take responsability for your mess instead of letting your employees suffer
- start living what you preach instead of inventing 1000 unnessecary overly complicated processes
- dont hire people if you have no money!!!
- pay your employees!!!
They allow Working from home, but have little to no way to create a company culture that would survive homeoffice.
They want to portray a young/cool/fresh/modern image but have no intention of living this on the inside as well. They do not care about their employees, and fire them at will, have generally no financial planning and let their employees suffer the consequenses
Great because i had almost no tasks before they fired me during my probation
want you to set up a carreer goal only to fire you a few days later.
I had regular daily calls due to onboarding and getting to know the product, but was also told this was too much. It felt very hard and difficult to get to know people, as everyone likes to keep to themselves or wothin their team
no 'older' colleagues, exept one.
unreachable, uncommunicative, generally do not seem to be aware of the atmosphere of their employees
- Tables that are generally too high and chairs that are not ajustable to a ergonomic height.
- They allow working from home but do not want to give/pay you suitable equipment
They have severe financial issues and could not pay our salaries, and only after 1.5 months learned that maybe communicating could be a good idea. Before that all we heard was 'it will for sure be payed next week' and next week would be the same story. Its honestly amazing noone sued you!
acceptable salary
Got hired for a project that has been declared dead for the past 6 months. Therefor was stuck with little stuff noone really cared about and any or all suggested changes were turned down. Felt like i/my job was not needed and did not know what i should be working on the majority of the day
Investment in marketing
Do not trust in their selling points and HR Manager comments (wants to protect the company)
Be transparent and share your financial issues
Ok
Negative - Financial issues
Zero
Unfair
Lots of gossip
Gossip
Worst ever - young und unprepared
Lack of transparency
flexibility regarding working hours & place, holiday package (25 days + additional days between christmas & new year's)
some processes are not 100% perfect and there are sometimes adjustments, yet, but that's work in progress
continue with improvements, stick to practicing transparency and open communication
appreciation, trial-and-error mentality
depending on who you ask, of course; Nomoko is raising more attention now, a lot has happened in the past years regarding processes, internal communication, employment package
no fixed hours, work needs to be done - doesn't matter from where and when, flexibility to work in homeoffice or remotely even if it's not covid
career planning and regular reviews for personal development have been introduced about a year ago (fall 2020) so it's quite new, but making progress
base salaries are market average, but on top you get a considerable amount of additional compensation (e.g. ESOP, lump sum expenses, employee benefit program, personal education support)
support of local businesses, conscious of environment - e.g. recycling, selling of old devices and equipment, laptops are fixed if possible & cost-efficient
open, constructive communication culture
not many "older" employees at the moment, but age is not a topic - work is what matters
regular 1:1 to discuss daily business & strategic topics, always open to questions, very supportive
spacious office, everyone has their desk, collaboration areas, meeting rooms, kitchen with coffee, tea and cooking equipment
bi-weekly townhalls, updates via teams and/or e-mail about changes or upcoming events
compensation system is based on clear criteria
fast-paced environment in a growing company automatically leads to interesting tasks and regular challenges
Flexibility, trust, friendliness and open culture. Definitely a massive plus. Feeling very welcomed.
Delivering on promises - or not making any. :)
The atmosphere is overall good. Even working from home has proved to be very good for the team spirit. With the return to the office, its getting nicer and it helps with the morale a lot to see colleagues again.
Nomoko has been in invisible mode for quite some years and it seems like this was a decision made on purpose. The company was discovering its niche and so it tried to keep its image as a little bit of a mystery company. It is now changing as the company's vision is clearer ( I think ) and that there is a first product. The "visual" image of the company is consistent and quite nice.
This is highly personal but it is what you make it. The company provides extreme amount of flexibility, home office, remote office. I feel like there is trust and also trust that work gets done without the need of controlling and reporting. There are tools in place but they're not overwhelming. In general there seems to be more trust with regards to work getting done, but I believe this is because of better processes in place and an actual company focus with measurable deliverables to be met.
There is a lot of effort into planning a path forward on a career level however I have not yet seen this implemented fully. I am not sure how I can be supported carrier wise in the long term and what the company can offer. We will see.
Salaries have been increased to match the market standard which has been very much needed and welcomed by the employees. Salaries are paid in time and in case of issues it is communicated well in advance.
In general, speaking from personal experience, colleagues work well together. I am not aware of any issues, but I may not know everything. HR provides great support in case of need.
There's often a little bit of over communication. In general more meetings than needed. There has been a great improvement of communication coming from the management. In the past this was a big issue, as it was a little bit of a black box. Now there's more professionalism and communication about important topics is much better.
There is salary equality between men and women (this was always the case) and also an opportunity equality. There has also been an effort over the years to ensure diversity as for quite some time especially gender diversity was an issue. The work on company culture seems to have paid off in this regard.
Not much. There are some really awesome people, but it was heartbreaking having to watch them getting bullied and personally discredited. Nomoko has so many wrongs, the rights just disappear.
Pretty much everything.
I would recommend asking help from a professional consultant. Basic infrastructure is missing due to lack of experience of the management team.
Also, when there are multiple and similar complaints against one employee's behaviour, please stop shooting the messenger and take care of this problem. Employees got systematically bullied, management hs been made aware of this
repeatedly and chose to ignore it.
You have to be open to criticism if you ever want to create a professional environment for a longterm company.
Mobbing, insults, lies, gossiping are just all part of daily life.
Non-existent. To this day, I do not know what the marketing department was doing. Any questions were replied with personal attacks. Every employee would tell you a complete different view. Outside, noone knows of the company.
The HR department did one thing: introducing home office without regulation or requiring reports. The work-life-balance is good as you can go whenever you need or want to.
The opportunities are promised, but non existant. As decisions are made based on personal preferences, there is no clear guideline on this subject.
They are mostly fair, but often not transparent. There is special treatment for some employees.
One employee received a higher salary because somebody believed this person had a higher education. This was simply wrong, the CV showed it clearly, yet it was simply ignored.
They really do not care about that. Management buys all products without caring who stands behind them. It just has to be trendy and fashionable.
Unfortunately and this is systematic, management team will disagree with all your inputs without delivering any arguments. If you dare question this, you will get personally attacked. I had to observe this mutliple times and experienced it myself. It is til this day one of the worst experiences I ever had to li e through. I found out an employee I had to directly work with made up the entire CV, which was also reflected in the results(non-existent). It was difficult to bring up the subject and tried to have a first talk discretely with management to see how this could be handled peacefully. It ended with me being personally attacked and discredited, while the scammer got a promotion.
Being forced to tell management compliments on their physical appearance is just one of many cringy situations that you will experience here on a daily basis.
Expertise, experience, knowledge are not valued here. They do prefer hiring younger profiles as too much expertise and facts seem to overwhelm the company.
It is the typical flat hierarchy startup that promotes equality, but in reality a select group of people are taking all decisions, despite being unqualified to make any decisions or lacking all information on subjects. This causes constant friction and frustration. Employees regularly leave or get fired.
You have to take care of yourself. I found myself working in hazardous and life threatening situations caused by the ignorance of management team. You can report this but be sure you will have to go back to that situation the next day.
Everyone communicates, noone listens. Any rules can also be considered as guidelines, so it is up to each employee to define channels of communication.
There are two category of people: the select group of management (they are friends in private life) and the rest of the company. Everyone is the same and gets treated well as long as they do not disagree or criticise anything.
You can do basicay whatever you want, just do not expect good work to be recognized or implemented.
Practice what you preach
So verdient kununu Geld.
