Company and especially its Leadership show their true colors as the time passes by

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Competitive (not in the good sense of the word) when you are above M level. People will rely on undermining the work of others to increase their chances of promotion. Cross-team work also is not really a thing, unless both teams have the exact same goals. Else it can happen that different teams are pitching different solutions for the same problem, if it favours them.

Kommunikation

If you know where to find things in the intranet and if you are actively looking for information, should be fine. But sometimes even important annoucements get "buried" in Vivid and people do not become aware of it.

Work-Life-Balance

Hybrid working model is good and allows people to have an interesting WLB

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Leadership likes to use the role/grade card as often as possible. A lot of work is pushed back to the lower levels with little to no guidance being shared. If positive results are achieved, you have done nothing but what was expected from you. If not, expect to take the blame, regardless if it's your fault or not.

Goals/targets seem to come out of a magical hat "We can double the team/revenue in x years", "we are bullish on the sales pipeline and interesting projects will come" (speech that is being repeated for over a year but nothing really happening). When asked how, there is no reasoning or plan shared on how this is to be achieved.

People are staffed on projects outside their departments/interests/area of expertise just for the sake of not having low chargeability and are later told that their performance cannot be compared to the others, even if they are doing an amazing job.

Interessante Aufgaben

For a BIG4, there is a lot of body-leasing and staff augmentation, also many projects were are are playing a "PMO"-only type of role.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Office is very oldfashioned and dark. Good work was done at the lobby but the rest still needs improvement.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Coffee areas are relying massively on disposable cups which creates a lot of trash at the end of the day.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salaries are below market. No raises after the end of the last performance period even though company is reporting record numbers on revenues and other metrics

Image

Company has a strong image in a few areas/specialties. In my view, needs to invest more to advertise the work from the Advisory practice (not in a generic way, but rather to the services that are offered by each one of the platforms and its teams).

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Internal learning platform is outdated and hard to use. A lot of the content from the e-learning is at the end a pdf/article that is linked there.

Career roundtables are completely subjective and it boils down to partner's favorites/opinion rather than based on facts, goals and client feedback.

Thank you for your entry on kununu. Although you seem to have had several positive experiences during your time with us, e.g., when it comes to communication or work-life balance, I read about your negative experience which I’m very sorry about. I’d be keen to discuss the details with you in person. Please reach out to me via email under Martina.Bender@pwc.ch.

I’d like to address the following points beforehand:
Working atmosphere: Working together is one of our key values and part of our strategy. To bring our values to life; for example, we introduced overall team goals to foster the mindset of collaboration and to bring in an entrepreneurial spirit for joint opportunities.

Career Roundtables: The Career Roundtables provide an open and transparent platform to all Coaches to discuss the performance and potential of all team members. We ask and train all participants for a mindset of openness, inclusiveness, and trust and ensure we consider feedback from various stakeholders to arrive at a balanced and fair outcome.

Learning opportunities: As a global network firm, we provide various learning opportunities. I am sorry to hear that you could not benefit from our global offering that we constantly re-design and adapt to market trends.

Leadership behaviour: We do not accept any form of behaviour that does not align with our values. That's why we have various processes in place to provide feedback on supervisor behaviour, either directly or anonymously. PwC also heavily invests in a "speak up" culture and promotes it vigorously within the firm. The feedback from employees enables us to address any misconduct. Behaviours that are addressed (whether directly or anonymously) are thoroughly investigated, and if warranted, bear consequences.

I wish you all the best for your private and personal future and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Warm regards,
Martina Bender
