Energetic and comitted environment with positive solution-oriented people. Cool team events (e.g. Thursday morning brunch) help foster cross functional experiences with teams you don't engage with on a daily basis.
Can be tough at times, it's a startup and things need to get done to reach results. But if you learn to be structured, you will have a good balance.
It's a startup. If you want the highest salaries look somewhere else, but for startups the salary is quite good.
yamo is very aware of environmental and social impact. Some products need to be produced in plastic packaging but there are projects in place to avoid plastic.
Everyone goes the extra mile if needed and is super helpful. Very skilled people from juniors to team heads, I learned a lot.
No difference in how young and old colleagues are treated
Very respectful. The heads teach their teams, they are demanding but also encouraging, you will grow and learn a lot!
Cool, creative open space office in an industrial hall with an amazing food court right next to the office door.
Straightforward and transparent communication, you have access to all team discussion in team chats if you are interested to learn more about other teams. It's still a startup and communication processes improve by the day.
Diverse team, inclusive and equal
It's amazing to be part of this success story. You can define your own projects if you bring great ideas to the table they can be implemented immediately.
The team at yamo is just incredible - it feels like one big family and everybody helps everybody.
Lernbereitschaft aller.
Weiter so!
Hervorragend
Viel Entfaltungspotential
Start Up entsprechend. Offen kommuniziert und transparent.
The working environment is hard to beat. Always very energetic and yet very focused. A fantastic spacious office with various work stations and a wonderful team.
At yamo, you're very lucky to work in a fast-growing, well-respected and truly amazing FoodTech-Startup.
As it is, the workload can vary from time to time. During the 6 months I spent at yamo as an intern, I never felt like my personal life was neglected. There were phases in which the workload was heavier and the days were a bit longer, but nothing out of the ordinary.
You also benefit from a lot of flexibility. You can not only choose your own remote working days, but you also profit from flexible working hours, which is a big plus.
The salary is in the average range for an internship in digital marketing.
The team is not only highly skilled but also incredibly diverse and extremely open and welcoming. All team members are very sociable and friendships are formed in no time. The weekly brunch, a great lunch area and creative team events allow you to regularly and casually interact with the other team members and have lots of fun.
Interacting with older coworkers is not any different from interacting with everyone else. Everybody is very respectful towards each other and values the opinion and input of all co-workers.
Both the direct supervisors as well as the founders have exceeded my expectations. Everyone is extremely sociable and the input of all the team members is greatly valued and feedback in any regard is always appreciated.
Besides the great team, you also benefit from a great office. It is not only super spacious and open but also equipped with numerous gadgets, skateboards and cozy work areas. All this makes the working experience even better.
Not to forget, the direct access to an external food court with incredibly good food!
Very straightforward and transparent communication. Thanks to brief weekly meetings with the entire team, everyone is always kept up to date on the latest projects. Cross-team projects are discussed in very well-structured meetings. Excellent and open communication, even while working from the home.
At yamo, I was very fortunate to work with a really diverse team, and everyone is treated in a very respectful and of course, equal way.
As an intern, I had a wide range of different tasks, most of them were very diverse.
Simply amazing. Professional and respectful yet never cold or distanced. Energetic and fun yet never pushy or childish. I always felt like my work and opinion were taken seriously and appreciated. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, I was met with understanding and guidance. Everybody is approachable and I as an intern never though twice when asking one of the founders for advice - they were always very welcoming and helpful.
Great founders, awesome employees, neat office, interesting work - all in one of Switzerland's most promising startups. What more can a marketing intern wish for?
Speaking as an intern, it was very good. There's no "clocking in" and "clocking out" and my actual working hours were never measured nor contested. There is a lot of trust that one will do what is asked of oneself and high flexibility as a result of that. You can work remotely if you have to and there were no fixed business hours for me as an intern. As long as you do your work and do it good, you have a lot of freedom to create your own schedule. That being said, it is a startup and in the end, getting stuff done is more important than sitting in the office for X hours. Working for yamo will come with it's more intense phases and as an intern you should definitively expect a normal 42.5 hours work week. But I also never experienced an unhealthy "hustle" startup-culture where people are shunned for leaving the office early. It's usually empty after 6pm.
A dream come true. All yamo employees are very competent, responsible, helpful and pleasant to be around. It feels like being part of a professional soccer team - if one member is struggling, another one will take on his responsibilites without complaining. There are enough fun (not compulsory) team events to strengthen the team spirit without tipping into the waters of "WE ARE A FAMILY, NOW SMILE!" as some tech startups might. Well balanced and very nice.
I could've not asked for better supervisors. The founders and my teammates were all amazing. They're all down to earth, approachable, helpful, very competent and just overall nice people. yamo seems to have mastered the hiring process as every employee seems to fit neatly within the team and culture. Hats off to them.
Very cool office in an empty factory building. High-ceilings, large, open spaces, lot's of plants, sofas, a great kitchen... a textbook startup office and very lovely. It's common that some employees spend their friday evenings here as there is a lot of space to hang out and talk. The company fridge and drinks are also available to all employees. The office embodies a "mi casa es su casa" attitude.
Spot on. No unnecessary emails or meetings. The founders are very transparent and honest about key metrics and company matters - I never got the sense that relevant information for employees was being withheld. All important announcements were carefully prepared before being broadcast to the company to reduce possible misunderstandings. The team is using latest communication services to remove any unnecessary bottlenecks and internal responses are obtained very quickly.
As an intern, my salary is probably on the Swiss average. It's always paid on time and I never had any problems.
yamo has approximately a 50/50 male-female ratio and feels very diverse. I never got the impression that gender, age or other such factors played a role in determining who got a job and who didn't.
As a digital marketing intern, you're partially responsible for the company's communication with customers and influencers on social media. You'll be spending a lot of time answering comments, questions, reviews and mails as well as making sure that the whole collaboration-process runs smoothly. Apart from that, you'll write blog-posts, do research on various topics and help out other team-members when they have a time-consuming but not very complex task at hand. If you've never worked with tools such as Wordpress, Trustpilot, Google Analytics, Facebook Business etc. before, you'll learn a great deal.
