Ego-driven, toxic environment - Capitalistic exploitation of product/company
Verbesserungsvorschläge
- Open communication around strategy: if you want to be capitalistic - just say so and the company is to 100% revenue driven, while building up a caring brand will not be needed anymore, however do not try to keep up the facade that you want to be both
- Communicate more honestly and openly with employees (about dismissals and other changes within the company, problems, salaries, criteria for promotion etc)
- Listen to the employees, introduce bottom-up feedback
- Give people more options for development and empower them to learn instead of patronising and making them frustrated - believe in people
- Don't LIE + OVERPROMISE - dont say there wont be another round of dismissals if one year later there is one, it is just called "restructuring" and used to let people go
Arbeitsatmosphäre
- C-Level is working completely ego driven creating a highly toxic and distructive atmosphere of constant power battles only wanting to push own agendas
- Some C-Level with highly narcissistic tendencies promoting "yes-sayers" and pushing those employees out of the company who raise their voices and give open feedback
Kommunikation
- Open feedback not wanted
- Management lacks leadership skills and people skills, they communicate with empty corporate language when talking about problems which only creates more distrust
Kollegenzusammenhalt
- Up to head of department levels mostly quite collaborative environment
Vorgesetztenverhalten
- C-Level is working completely ego driven creating a highly toxic and distructive atmosphere of constant power battles only wanting to push own agendas
- Some C-Level with highly narcissistic tendencies promoting "yes-sayers" and pushing those employees out of the company who raise their voices and give open feedback
- Little confidence in employees' skills and patronising treatment, many people with high qualifications are put down because they might be too good and a thread to the manager?
Gleichberechtigung
- huge gender pay gap of around 20-25% in marketing - not acceptable!
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
- Company values are empty - the company and management could care less about employees and their well-being
- No dedication to employee development
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
- huge gender pay gap of around 20-25% in marketing - not acceptable!

Babbel used to be one of the best employees in Berlin but that was a long time ago. I would not recommend working there.
